Gerlind was a wonderful host. She was genuine in that you rarely wondered how she felt or what she thought, and I appreciated that immensely. My two months in Rehfeld were structured. In terms of the tasks; they were all rather simple and spaced out through my day. Gerlind was patient with the learning process. There was a lot to remember. Two weeks is often needed to find your rythm. I wish I had come with a better grasp of the language. Gerlind is close to fluent in English, but she is largely the exception. Life in Rehfeld is simple. It required adjustment but was worth it. I loved it!

My stay in Rehfeld was extraordinary! Gerlind is one of the most intelligent and interresting people I've ever met. Its true, the way I lived there was WAY out of my comfort zone but she made it so nice and easyer to love. I must say it is a SIMPLE life there, text me for details. The food was definitely something I needed to adapt to. High on carbs, low on protein for modern standards but its also good for the type of life you have there. Gerlind loves German, Russian and other nations traditional foods so it really is a gastro tour trough nations country dishes which I enjoyed so much!

Edith is a lovely girl: positive, smiling, flexible, and nature-loving. She is very polite and respectful, with a wide range of interests—we had many good conversations. She was a great asset to our horse care team and learned the essential skills in a short time, always with great kindness and attention to the animals. I highly recommend Anya for any experience, as I believe she is smart, a quick learner, and able to adapt well to even simple living conditions! I hope we see each other again!

I stayed on the farm for three weeks and it went by way too quickly. Gerlind is a lovely person with such a kind heart, and you can see she really cares for all her animals so well (horse experience is definitely needed) . The work hours and tasks are very reasonable and easy. Working a couple hours a day and plenty of time to rest, chill out, and explore the nearby towns. I would recommend this experience to animal (especially horses) and nature lovers who want some time to disconnect from city life and see the beautiful German countryside.

I stayed with Gerlind for a total of five weeks and it was a really good experience overall. Daily tasks included mucking out the paddock, moving horses, gardening and any odd chores throughout the day. Later on in my stay two foals were born and so daily tasks also included cleaning their stables. Gerlind is a wonderful and experienced host who is incredibly passionate about horses, dogs and the environment. She gives clear, direct instructions for daily tasks and enjoys telling stories about her life, her animals and the forest(s) that she has lived in.

The animals are what make the experience worthwhile. But the host was problematic. I only stayed for a week out of the whole period planned. On the first day she said she was afraid I wouldn't adapt, and on the second day she told me that my energy wasn't right, without even giving me the chance to adapt to the place. She doesn't like to be contradicted or to have her opinions disagreed with. She considers the volunteers to be servants. No WIFI and no signal. If you don't leave for another city, you have to work without a day off. No sources of protein at lunch and breakfast is just cereal.

I had a really interesting experience. The place and animals are beautiful and if you are looking for a place to be far far away from society, this is where. I learnt a lot about horses and dogs! Also about this peoples lifestyle and myself. The work hours are respected. You need to know about horses. But, I wouldn't recommend this place if you aren't from or used to the countryside. Because you will be expected to act and know things from there and if you don't, they will ask you to leave. Also they aren't easy people to be around, you will need to be incredibly flexible and open to fit in.

Gerlind, the host, lives in this cozy house in the middle of the forest, with her dogs and the ponies; she's kind and has a lot of experience in horses' and dogs' breeding, she always tells really good stories. However I left earlier because it wasn't the right place for me since I'm not used at all to live so far away from the city and from people, there wasn't the opportunity to meet new people (there weren't other volunteers during my stay). I would recommend this experience if you're looking for a place to be in complete touch with nature and if you don't need to be around people.

Gerlind is a nice and close woman who opens the doors of her house for you and makes sure that your stay is comfortable. All the animals are calm and friendly, and the tasks you have to do are easy as long as you have organization and disposition. It is important that you are responsible since you are in charge of the dogs, horses, chickens and the farm, but always with the attention of Gerlind. In the experience you learn a lot about life in the countryside, but you also get to know first-hand life in Germany, the food and the people.

Gerlind is a wonderful woman who loves horses as much as I do, maybe that is one of the reasons why I had such a good time at her lovely farm. I learned so many things during my stay, from how to work correctly with animals to being organised and responsible. I was able to have fluent conversations about any topic with her, she tells really interesting and nice stories in which shows how much she knows about animals, culture, history, etc. Her family is lovely and caring, I was treated like another member of their own. And last but not least, her animals, I love every single one of them.

Totally recommend for nature & Animal lover who looking forward to a real adventure and being responsible in the wild and farm nature! This a real experience to be in the middle of nature with Horses & Dogs and how to tarin body language with them (new method that she teach you) and surrounded woth the books in this direction to learn ( she also have English version for the international helpers) Gerlind support and host her guest like a family member. Of course she expects same respect and responsibility. She teach you everything but it takes 1-2 weeks to learn everything.
