Beyond grateful this was my first volunteer experience abroad!! Christine and her family are the sweetest people, I felt so comfortable and at home from day one! The community is lively, the nature is stunning, and the group of volunteers felt like a family. I would come back in a heartbeat 💗

I had the most amazing month at the hostel- I could not recommend volunteering here enough! Christine & her family were so welcoming and kind and I immediately felt at home in Stornoway. I got to see a lot of Lewis and Harris during my month there which was great, as well as meet some amazing other volunteers. Thank you for everything!

The Hebrides are a wonderful place, straight out of a National Geographic magazine. If you like to spend time outdoors, take long walks or go cycling, this is the place for you. Have good hiking boots and a rain jacket ready at all times, the weather is unpredictable and very crazy, in one day it can be sunny, rainy and rocky and then sunny again.

The hostel was a wonderful experience. The hostel itself is a cool building to stay in. Christine and her family are lovely and incredibly friendly and accommodating. I was always given suggestions of things to do and any events happening in town. The hiking and scenery is amazing. You have plenty of beaches, hills, a few mountains and other spots within easy travel distance. I whole heartedly recommend volunteering here and hope to back again myself in future.

I couldn't reccommend enough volunteering at the hostel. Perfect place for someone looking to disconnect and go explore nature. Work was light and flexible. Christine and her family are great people and make you feel at home. I treasure all my memories I've had here <3

My time at the hostel was truly amazing! The hostel itself is very cozy and clean, the work is always fair and matches the description and my time was packed with great experiences. Christine and her whole family are just awesome. Always so kind, making sure that everybody is okay and feeling safe, happy and welcome. I'm very thankful for this experience and all the people I was able to meet! I would love to come back in the future and I can happily recommend this volunteer opportunity to everyone!

Christine and her family were incredibly kind and welcoming. They all want to make sure you feel comfortable and enjoy your stay. The accommodation is very clean/comfortable and Christine makes sure every volunteer feels at home. The work is very fair, sticking to the agreed upon hours, and expectations are clear. There is also flexibility to have time to explore the island. Christine is also very understanding and accommodating to every volunteer's personal needs and well-being. I can't recommend this volunteer experience enough!

The work is easy and simple with a schedule that allows you to see all the characteristic points of the island of Lewis and Harris. No words to describe our hostess who at all times was kind, helpful, attentive and friendly, exceeding our expectations. In addition, your whole family is involved with the Hostel, making the experience even better. The period we were at the Hostel made it possible to improve our English language and provided unforgettable contacts with people from different parts of the world.

I can't say enough good things about volunteering at the hostel! Christine and her family are the nicest people I've ever met , they all made sure we were well taken care of and had everything we needed. I was able to stay in their dorms, bell tent, and their tree house which is just so cool. You get to meet a lot of the locals and also so many people from all over the world it's exactly what I was looking for! Stornoway is a beautiful little town and you have plenty of time to explore Lewis and Harris which is amazing! I will definitely be coming back and would totally recommend it to others
