The experience

The main task will be helping with our vegetable garden, mostly seeding, planting, and weeding (and other simple seasonal garden tasks when needed). We also have a few animals — hens, rabbits, and a pig — so if you like, you can help take care of them as well (feeding, cleaning, daily checks). Additionally, we have a small Airbnb accommodation, where you can optionally help with cleaning and preparing the space between guest stays.

Program Details

We are a small countryside farmstay in Czechia and we welcome volunteers for the season 2026. The program is hands-on and practical, focused on helping us run the garden and the property in a steady, realistic way—no rushing, no pressure, just consistent help and good teamwork.

Main focus areas:

Vegetable garden: seasonal work such as planting, weeding, watering, harvesting, tidying beds, composting, and general garden maintenance.

Animals (optional, if you’re interested): we have chickens and pigs. Tasks can include feeding, cleaning, refilling water, and basic daily checks.

Airbnb support (optional): we also host guests, so volunteers can help with light tasks like cleaning and preparing accommodation between stays (only if they want to and after we explain standards clearly).

Accommodation & living:

Volunteers stay in a maringotka (shepherd’s wagon) on the property.

You will have a kitchen, so you can cook for yourself.

When available, you can use fresh ingredients from our garden.

Free time & experience:
You’ll have plenty of free time to relax, enjoy nature and the views, explore the surroundings, and experience local Czech countryside life. We enjoy cultural exchange—feel free to share your culture and learn about ours.

Activities & Shift

Activities & Shifts (Flexible Schedule)

We are very flexible with shifts. The main requirement is to complete 25 hours per week in total. This means you can work a bit more on some days and less on others — you’re largely in control of your own time.

Most tasks are regular and repeatable (especially in the garden), or we will explain them clearly in advance. Once you understand what needs to be done, you can usually plan and spread the work across the following days in a way that suits you best (weather, energy, personal plans), as long as the weekly 25-hour target is met.

On Airbnb changeover days, we may occasionally ask for a bit of coordination with timing, but we’ll always communicate this ahead of time and keep things reasonable.

Rules

Rules

To keep things smooth for everyone (and respectful for guests and neighbors), we ask volunteers to follow these basic rules:

Safety first: follow instructions, use tools properly, and ask if you’re unsure.
Quiet hours: keep noise low in the evening (especially when Airbnb guests are staying).
Cleanliness: keep your maringotka and shared areas tidy; clean up after cooking.
Animals: treat animals kindly; only do animal tasks after we show you how.
Guests’ privacy: Airbnb areas are for guests—enter only when asked/needed for agreed tasks.
No unapproved visitors: please ask before inviting anyone to the property.
Positive communication: if something bothers you, tell us—small issues are easiest to fix early.
