Staying at the farm with Anita was absolutely fantastic. She is incredibly kind and easy to enjoy spending time with. She took everything into account such as weather and would try to make both the time working and time off as good as possible. Her property is very beautiful and working in it was very interesting and a great experience. As well, the meals she would prepare were fantastic every time. The entire experience was very welcoming and though I didn't get to stay long I found that I felt at home very quickly. Anita is a wonderful host and I would absolutely reco

It was a great experience - lots of opportunity to explore local places and meet locals. There were also tons of cool places to swim! Just make sure you clarify what the hosts expectations are at the start of your work!

Our stay at the farm surpassed our expectations. Through the whole stay, Anita was a very generous host and helped us with a lot of things. You will be able to visit Victoria and spend some time at Lake Cowichan which is very beautiful and a great spot for swimming! At times, the requirements of the role (work hours etc.) were unclear to us but I think that this was more because of our situation (this was our first worldpacking experience) than any fault of our host- just make sure to ask for clarification at the beginning of your stay! I am grateful to Anita for being so understanding when I had VISA issues and was delayed on my arrival due to that. Food was incredible and the tasks were not difficult, they were even enjoyable to me. On the other hand, the accommodation was not what I was expecting, it was not a private room (as stated on the position) and it was bit too dirty for my comfort which is why I had to leave earlier than originally expected.

HI Yvonne, I am sorry that I neglected to update regarding the change in accommodations, I thought I had addressed it in the intake questions (regarding : "like-camping" ). but I realized during conversation with Andrea that in fact the photos still indicated the other accommodation. My time at the farm is one I will never forget. Anita and Ginger made me feel welcome from the moment we met; getting to know them was a pleasure. Tasks were managable, the variation of projects made work interesting and working in the garden was highly enjoyable. Anita taught me about how she runs the property, business and cooking. I've had some of the best meals during my stay, she is an amazing cook! I really enjoyed my time in Victoria and driving around the area during the change in season. I would highly recommend this experience! Best wishes for the future, I'll miss the furry friends

Anita is an amazing host, I really enjoyed this experience. She is so charming, cares about you and gives you everything needed. The accomodation is amazing, you have your own space and the food is the best! Anita is a good soul and a lovely person, already miss her. The job you have to do is quite easy, moreover she showed you how to do everything. Hours of working are flexible and you can do many different activities around at the Lake and river Cowichan, beautiful places. She helped us with everything we need, I feel super grateful of meet her, highly recommend this experience.

Highly recommended!! Amazing experience with Anita. We really enjoy the time we were there, she is so flexible. The work at the garden is not hard at all and you can learn a lot. I have good memories shared in the farm. I could practice my English every day. Anita is a person who makes it very easy to talk and share experiences, it was a pleasure to hear her and learn a little about bio-orchards, and with that cultivated in the garden prepare meals, delicious and natural. I learned how to maintain a more sustainable life by separating solids and with organic waste making compost. She was attentive to any request. If you really love nature, this place is perfect because it is surrounded by vegetation, rivers and lakes 🌿😊

The experience was incredible. I felt that in short time we lived so much things!!! The gardens and the decoration is beatiful and unique. The tasks are not difficult and super flexible. I absolutely loved it! i reccommend it to everyone who loves working outside and who loves nature. You will learn a lot during your stay there, I know I learned about gardening, I improved my cooking skills and leanred about life in general. It's a lovely and clean place Anita and her daughter Ginger are amazing and I loved spending time with them. We also had the chance to go see the amazing landscape around town and to go see victoria!! I already miss it
