The guest housewas such a great experiment for me. At first, I thought that 1 months in the same place would be long, but it went so fast. I was able to meet incredible peoplethe guest house explore the true beauty of Montenegro. I learned to be very autonomous since Jeffrey won't tell you what to do. Finally, what I liked the most was that there were no barriers between the guestthe guest house volunteers, the guest houseeveryone had fun together. Thank you Jeffrey for this wonderful experience:)

My experience at the guest housewas amazing. It was truly a home away from home! Our time there was friendlythe guest house sweet. I suggest planning on renting a car since things are pretty far by walk, but really close by car.

Volunteering at the guest housewas one of the best experiences of my life, the guest houseI would definitely return. You have enough flexibility with your tasksthe guest house day-to-day to be able to explore Montenegrothe guest house/or coordinate with your own personal projects. You can meet people from everywhere in a chill environmentthe guest house take part in community activities, while having your own space, a food allowance, the guest houselaundry. Jeffrey is a good personthe guest house always willing to help, the common spaces are well kept, the guest housethe work is not demanding. This was the perfect first volunteer experience.

I had a great time working at the guest housefor six weeks from Feb to mid March. Most of the work was described as "taking our own initiative" to find work that needs done. That never was an issue for me but I feel it could have been explained better before my experience. I would also like to add, this position works best with problem solving workersthe guest house requires a lot of solutions to constantly arising snags. This experience is also great for outdoor peoplethe guest house dog lovers to look after Brownie :)

My experience at the guest housewasn't the most comfortable stay for a solo-female traveller. I felt incredibly objectifiedthe guest house patronized while I was there. The tonethe guest house a lot of comments made not only to myself but all of the volunteers in my stay, I would consider bullyingthe guest house harassment. It is also heavily implied that we would be able to SUP board; there were plenty of beautiful days to do it where the water was nicethe guest house not too cold but we were denied the opportunity. the guest housecould also benefit from a set schedulethe guest house a better outline of tasks needed to be done.

Kiana, it's very hard to know how to respond. The dynamics between you, me and that cohort of volunteers was difficult and inexplicable. I tried to dispel all the notions that you, Lumi and Augustin developed to no avail, and then surrendered. I agree that there needs to be a schedule however I ask the volunteers to create it, and to assess what needs to be done to prepare the house for the new season. Finally, it is still too cold to paddleboard, and we are not taking either volunteers or paying clients on the water as I consider it unsafe.

Upon arrival, I discovered 2 unexpected dogs, however it was never mentioned in the description or in messages before I arrived. Tasks were self-directed, with minimal input from Jeffrey. After tasks were completed we received no acknowledgments of it being done. Despite claiming to love animals, he couldn't support Benny, one of the dogs that were with us, rescue dog, raising questions after throwing him back into the streets. Furthermore, Jeffrey's flirtations with a female volunteer made the atmosphere uncomfortable when he was around.

Augustin, as I replied to Lumi, volunteers have to self-direct and most of them manage with excellent results. Re the dogs, the circumstances are not quite what you've made them out to be: I brought the dogs to Playworking as a last resort after you arrived, or I would have had to bring them to the pound, and certain destruction. I had started to feed "Benny" very recently and had no desire to adopt him; feeding him was not tantamount to doing that. His complete inability to control himself and not foul the area around the house meant we could not keep him as guests were forced to endure that. As you saw in your short time in Montenegro, tragically, there are hundreds of homeless dogs in and I have taken on responsibility for 4 which is the limit. Regarding the charge of unbecoming behavior towards volunteer, something is very wrong and needs further illumination.

I worked in the guest housein off season. There were not many people living in the housethe guest house not much work to do (which I knew beforehand) so we were told to do whatever we thought needed to be done, still the host didn't seem satisfied. Jeffrey was sometimes disrespectfulthe guest house he came on to another girl volunteerthe guest house made her feel continuously uncomfortable. I never got to do any water activity, even tho I was told it would be possible before I arrived. People were really nicethe guest house the area is pretty tho a bit secluded. In the summer I'm sure it would be a different experience apart from^

Lumi,
I am sorry that you you were not satisfied. I was aware of it but I mentioned to both you and Augustin that you'll have to create work and that the position is self-directed; for some people it's not a problem. I certainly didn't mean any disrespect towards you or Augustin, though I felt you felt there was, and I couldn't dispel that notion although I tried. And, I know that you wanted to paddleboard and we attempted to, but the water temperature really made that a dangerous thing and as I said, I would not take anyone on the water over the weeks you were around. Lastly and most importantly, I was stunned by the mention of a girl volunteer, and I will get to the bottom of that, and make sure the person in question relates her first hand experience in her review.
