I stayed here for over 5 weeks. If you want a comfortable living situation, practice your spanish, and work with a wonderful team of people, I highly recommend. A beautiful property and a great location, I would recommend this experience to people easing into solo travelling, as Jonathan will make you feel welcomed into the Guatemalan culture and Antigua is a beautiful and safe city.

This is a great place if you want to take a break from the traveling and rest, spend more time exploring Antigua. Jonathan and all personnel were really friendly and welcoming. I had a great time :)

The dogs were very sweet and well behaved. Walking them is a great way to see the city of Antigua. Weather was quite hot and expect to da lot of walking so be prepared (hat, water, good shoes etc). Room was comfortable and the family working there preparing the fresh daily meals (breakfast and lunch) were so lovely and a good way to practise Spanish.

My experience was incredible, the hosts were so friendly and welcoming. A great experience to be able to interact with locals and feel like you're making a difference to the local community, also a great place to practice Spanish.

Such an amazing organization to volunteer with!! Some of the most caring, flexible and interesting people work here. This experience definitely gave me a better perspective on the organization and helped me improve my spanish a lot!

We are shocked about your review. Unfortunately this affects our ratings and how we and perceived by other travelers. I believe is necessary to make clear that you applied asking to be welcomed right away because your current host was mistreating you and that on your “ arrival date” you requested to change dates. After checking with your host they mentioned that some days you wouldn’t show up to work thats why they cancelled on you. Unfortunately even when you let us hanging we didnt write anything negative. Until today that you posted a fake review.

I HAD A LOVELY TIME VOLUNTEERING HERE! Jonathon Prera, who runs the place, is the absolute best! Along with Jonathon, the family that works at the hostel was so incredibly kind to me! Though I studied it in high school, my Spanish is quite bad, but everyone was so nice anyway! The hostel is connected to a travel agency, a school, AND an NGO! I helped out at the hostel with painting/manual work and at the school with painting walls and a mural for the children! I got to play with some of the sweet little kids as well! There are plenty of other ways to contribute! GREAT HOSTEL GREAT TIME!!

Ah sido una experiencia muy bonita cuidando a los perritos. He llegado a quererlos mucho. Jonathan, Samara, Carlos y Fernanda me recibieron super bien desde el primer día. Me ha gustado mucho compartir con ellos y con otras chicas voluntarias que me han ayudado a mejorar mucho mi inglés. Jonathan el anfitrión es una muy buena persona siempre dispuesto a ayudarte en lo que necesites, dispuesto a servir, apoyar y a dar siempre más. Tenía una ONG espero que pueda volver a abrirla de nuevo porque su corazón es muy grande y siempre quiere ayudar a los que más lo necesitan. Gracias Jonathan y todos❤

Yo tuve una experiencia muy bonita aquí y me conecté especialmente con el staff, lo que me hizo sentir como que hacía parte de una familia guatemalteca. Las actividades son tranquilas y no salen del que fue acordado. Jonathan es muy flexible y el equipo deja la rutina muy divertida y con buen ambiente. Seguramente recomiendo la experiencia y advierto de que será difícil decir adiós a esa familia!
