English teacher support in Escuintla, Guatemala

This project is very rewarding but very hard work. It is essentially a full time job. You have 3 full 8:30-5 teaching days, and 2 half days, but the 2 half days need to be used to keep on top of grading students' homework and preparing a lesson for the club, so you are essentially working 5 full days. It's a lot of fun, and you have quite a lot of freedom within your teaching, so you can adapt your style to your class once you know your students. I felt very welcomed. It's hard to travel on weekends because Escuintla is very much off the tourist trail, so there's less public transport.

What can I say! I spent 4 weeks here all, and loved loved loved everything about this experience!!! The host family was absolutely amazing, they including me in all activities, taking me with them to birthdays, weddings, and to the family farm. the school was nice, and students amazing, I will miss them for sure. They provided a lunch at the school, and a Tita had a curriculum with presentations for each class prepared. 100% would love to do this again, highly recommend!

Tita and her family live in a beautiful luxurious compound with maids that cook your food, serve you, make your bed everyday, clean everything so you get to just relax and go to the academy. They take and pick you up from the academy and the students are genuinely curious to learn and are friendly with you. It was a nice experience The family is really welcoming, friendly and accommodating.
