The experience

We're looking for pro-active, social and professional front desk assistants for our three hostels in Cancun. You're the perfect candidate if you're comfortable working in a dynamic atmosphere: you'll be showing people their room and the hostel, help with their luggage and inform them about the daily activities we offer our guests.

What you offer

25 hours of help per week

Reception: Help with check-ins, check-outs and guest assistance.

Additional fee required

Amount: MXN$ 1000 One time

Description: We request $1000 MXN Pesos security Deposit which you will get back at the end of your volunteering time if everything is ok. if you leave before the time, we agree you lost your deposit.


What you get

2 days off per week

Shared Dorm: You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other travelers.

Team Dorm: You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other people.

Lunch: You are entitled to a free lunch, every day of your stay.

Discounts on Restaurants: Get discounts at nearby restaurants.

Discounts on Drinks: Get discounts for drinks and beverages from our bar.

Discounts on Tours: Get discounts for tours and excursions around town.

Discounts on Accommodation: Get discounts for your stay in other hostels.

Yoga classes: Take free yoga classes at our place.

Use our equipped kitchen: Feel free to use our kitchen and make your own delicious food.

Basic Internet Access: Basic speed internet for you to work remotely


Requirements

Beginner Spanish or Fluent English

Between 21 and 40 years old

Only hosts solo volunteers (doesn’t accept couples or partners)

Flights, Travel Insurance, Internal Transportation and Visa


Program Details

Help us improve the overall experience of guests: from the beginning until the end of their stay you'll be there for all their questions, doubts or just a lovely chit-chat.

Especially if it's high season in Cancun and our hostel is packed with people all over the world, we ask you to be open-minded and resilient to stressful situations.

You'll be the helping hand to our front desk receptionists, so you don't have to worry about working alone.

Your working hours will depend on the operation of the front desk and you'll have a manager that will inform you about your activities.

Activities & Shift

ACTIVITIES
- Help our front desk receptionists with check-ins.
- Assist guests with their luggage and show them their rooms.
- Inform people about the weekly activities we offer in the hostel.


SHIFTS
5 days a week /2 day off. The schedule depends on the hostel operation and will be announced every week in a WhatsApp group chat.



Please note for volunteer positions as party promotor, front desk and concierge demand varies according to sales and season. Positions might not be guaranteed however we strive to accommodate wishes and qualifications.


Rules

DEPOSIT:
We request a $50 USD security deposit. If you leave before the date we agreed upon, you will lose your deposit.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION
1. We have a *BASIC* WI-FI connection.
2. We *CANNOT* offer vegetarian options for lunch.

RULES:
- Always be on time to your scheduled activities.
- *NO* smoking or drinking during activities.
- Don't enter guests rooms
- Additional guests aren't allowed inside volunteer's rooms
- Don't bring external guests to the hostel. If you want to bring somebody external *ASK* for permission from the manager
- Report any found and unclaimed items to Lost-And-Found (front desk)
- Keep your room, bathrooms and hostel areas *CLEAN*
- Don't bring drugs to your room or to the hostel. We have a zero-tolerance policy.
- Take care of the hostel's supplies and equipment
