This was my first volunteering experience and it was absolutely fabulous! Christine and her family were so welcoming and kind and always made sure I felt like I was at home. I slept in an amazing treehouse and bell tent (got the option as well to sleep in a dorm) which was an amazing experience. The work was easy and good and definitely would recommend to others!!

I have no words to describe this Amazing experience in Stornoway/ Scotland. Since I arrive Christine made me feel as home and very very welcome, the team was very cozy cuZ the family environmental in the hostel; you will feel as home (like me) with a wonderful treat! Knowing the family is the best immersion in the local culture, I'm so grateful with the life cuz I had this experience.

My second destination in Scotland. I truly had a great time here in Stornoway. I met many wonderful volunteers and guests during my stay. The hostel is family-run. Christine was very kind and loving, always looking after us to make sure everyone is happy. Her family were all very friendly and warm. Work was simple and fair and I really enjoyed it! The island has many beaches and I really enjoyed camping and sightseeing. I was also lucky to see one of the best traditional Scottish music festival! I had one of the best memories in this island and will definitely come back for a visit one day!

Fellow travellers, I can without a doubt recommend you guys this Hostel. Christine, the host, was so kind and welcoming. I never felt unsafe,unwelcome or disrespected. The staff room I stayed in was beautiful and cozy. The hostel & the facilities were very nice, complete & clean. The landscapes and outdoors of the island are so grand, untouched, well-preserved. The city itself is small & charming. I really enjoyed meeting the other volunteers & the guests that came and went: a lot of hikers/cyclists/campers... some really interesting, open-minded & friendly folk. Thanks again Christine! xo

Best experience ever! Christine and her family are lovely! Always trying to make you feel at home and making plans with the staf like fishing or dinners.The staf is amazing and you really make good friends. It's like a big family. Always meeting nice people in the hostel, to go out or have a good conversation. Easy work and enought time to explore the island. It's a good oportunity to improve english. I really hope to return as soon as posible.

Traveling to Stornoway was the best experience I could have, Christine and her family are the greatest host, friendly, great communication, great friends! The Hostel is very nice and cosy, I met people everyday even that it was low season, the work is easy and gives you time to explore the islands. Great for somebody looking for an adventure somehwere remote with beautiful landscapes and beaches

The hostel is not just a perfect place to stay, but it's full of the most beloved people I have ever met. Everyone in the family is so kind and helpful. They make all in their power to make you have the best time. Since you feel almost like a part of the family there is no time at all for being homesick :) I really enjoyed all the possibilities that I got there and miss all of them! I would totally recommend to stay in the Hostel because (for my first world packers experience) it was so much better than I could have imagined. I had the best time and I'm sure that I'm coming back! X

Christine and her family treat you like their own family almost! They are very charming and lovely people. They take care of you and help you whenever you need. I totally recommend going to the hostel because wherever you go you will find a beautiful scene and because the greats moments with people of the hostel you will bring with you.
