Program Details
We're a traditional muslim family, with my parents having left pakistan/india before the partition, so if you want to experience what life is like for a 'typical'? London family living in the suburbs (not the centre), we'd love to have you join us! My sisters a primary school teacher, currently into organic 'everything', gardening and pottery.
There are always a lot of varied and interesting projects to help with here, some DIY related, but our need recently is for elderly care and housekeeping, for those willing to put in some effort with good spirit and humour there's plenty of knowledge and friendships to take away with you. I hope you'll leave learning about a culture / lifestyle you didn't know about before, improved English and maybe even a little Urdu!
Dad is 84 now with some memory loss so requires patience, and we prioritise applicants that can work independently ;)
Activities & Shift
Usually the days go a bit like like this:
We have our breakfast at around 8am so that we are ready to start with our tasks at 8.30am. At about 2pm we eat lunch. After lunch the afternoons and evenings can be used to explore the many things that London has to offer or you can just chill in the house, and 2 days a week are all yours to do with as you wish!
I also provide a bicycle and a lock for you to use to explore the neighbourhood and London. However, I do expect servicing, repairs and if stolen, replacement to be the responsibility of the user.
Coaching mum & dad through exercises is a priority task that we're looking for help with recently.
We sometimes invite each other and eat together in the evenings but it's on a more relaxed type basis, you'll be provided all ingredients for meals which you'll need to make yourself.
Rules
No drinking alcohol or coming back drunk, no pork/alcohol, (only halal food in the house)
Please be back home by 10pm as everyone's asleep by then.
