It was like my first time volunteering and honestly, couldn't ask for a better place in PT! IBH has such a warm and welcoming vibe… Reception tasks are simple and enjoyable, mostly check-ins/outs. Plus, the house is 1 min away from the beach and 5min away from the train station-really convenient! Natacha, the manager, is a lovely soul, she also makes sure that your schedule is flexible and respected so that you have plenty of time to travel around. What I loved the most is that there are many international volunteers coming who stay for long periods so you can build meaningful connections.

Gabi volunteered with us at the reception and was an absolutely outstanding addition to the team. She is a wonderful young woman with great energy, a healthy and sporty lifestyle, and a very positive attitude that truly influenced both the team and the overall atmosphere of the hostel. Gabi was extremely organized, learned everything very quickly, and consistently went beyond her required tasks. Her professionalism, friendliness, and natural hospitality made her a pleasure to work with. <3

IBH felt like a second home since the first day! The environment in the house is amazing, the food is delicious, the room is very clean and cozy! Cascáis and Estoril are absolutely gorgeous. Learned a lot of Portuguese and met friends for life! My favorite thing was having the beach just 2 mins away walking and sea view from the house! I would 100% recommend this volunteer experience! Natacha (the host) is amazing, caring, lovely and shifts are flexible so you can plan trips through Portugal or the EU. Im so grateful for being able to live this experience and I hope to come back next year <3

Staying at the hostel was the BEST experience I could've asked for. What was originally 2 months lasted for 5. I can't express how grateful I am to have been part of the team, for being welcomed and cherished as I was. Natacha, the manager, is not only an amazing women, but also an amazing mother, a friend and boss hehehe. She was there for me whenever I needed both in the work itself, but in my personal life. The hostel is an opened place for you to bring ideas, develop projects, but if you are not a dedicated detailed oriented person, it might not be a good fit. BEST PLACE IN PT <3

My experience in the hostel was amazing and unforgettable. I met lovely people from all over the world and I also make new friends. Natacha and João were always taking care of us and the housekeeping is very kind too. I was volunteering at reception. The job is easy to learn, but you have some responsibilities. The schedule is very good because you have many days off. I can't recommend you more this experience. Three free meals per day in a hostel with an unbeatable location. All this trying to be more and more sustainable. Thank you so much! Muito obrigada! ¡Gracias por todo!

Marta was an absolute pleasure to host at Impact Beach House. She is incredibly mature, calm, and easy-going, which made her a natural fit at the reception and with the rest of the team. Always friendly and kind, she got along with everyone and created a great atmosphere in the hostel. Her creativity brought valuable improvements to our daily routines, and we admired her courage to embrace even the tasks that were new to her. Marta is a truly lovely person and we were lucky to have her!

The experience was smooth and fun! Natacha is a great host, always making sure we're comfortable with tasks and available to help. The team is multicultural, mostly composed by latins, what made me feel at home. The shifts are pretty chill as the hostel has a very tranquil vibe. It's important to keep in mind the position requires real work responsibilities, such as managing cash flow and executing tasks often on your own. The energy is very light and happy, rooms and bathrooms are clean and comfortable, food is great! The space and wi-fi are perfect for remote work. Thank you everyone <3

Isabella volunteered with us at the reception and performed her tasks responsibly and with good energy. She is proactive and creative, bringing ideas such as karaoke sessions that turned into a fun and engaging activity for everyone. With her strong Brazilian spirit, she brought liveliness to the house. At the same time, she has a very strong personality and can be direct in her communication, so she might adapt better in environments that match her style. Thank you for everything Isabella!

Paula was a truly special volunteer to host. She has an amazing, chilled vibe and a beautiful soul that immediately connected with everyone. As a talented tattoo artist and painter, she literally left her mark on the hostel, creating both art on our walls and cherished memories with the people she met. She brought great energy, friendship, and creativity to the team. She is more of a creative spirit than a detail-focused person but her overall presence and contribution were unforgettable!

Good place and meals!👌😉 As always, keep in mind to collaborate, be proactive, keeping clear/solved all the respective doubts/uncertainties! During your training, make sure to know/understand the volunteer's duties/tasks, its procedures and the respective resources, being able to do/solve it autonomously afterwards. Wise experiences to all of us🙏💪🚀...cheers✌️

Iago supported us mainly with driving, maintenance, and some reception tasks. He is very detail-oriented and showed dedication to improving processes such as updating documents, organizing lists, and suggesting better feedback procedures, which were valuable contributions. He is polite and committed to trying his best to be involved and welcomed. At the same time, he is more task-focused than people-focused, so he may adapt better to roles that require structure and precision. Thank you Iago!

The hostel was my home for 3 months! I'm so grateful to had my first worldpackers/ volunteer experience here! The tasks were super simple, there's always someone around to have a little hand if it's needed. I think is the most perfect environment to be in constant cultural exchange and share the best energy with amazing people! I had the opportunity to travel as much as I could, I also improved my English! The location is wonderful, super close to the beaches and also super easy to go to Lisbon and cascais. I couldn't be more grateful for everything I learned in this last 3 months! 🩷

Sofia was a joy to have with us at Impact Beach House. She is incredibly sweet, friendly, and responsible, always bringing kindness and a gentle energy to the team. She started a bit shy and not the most proactive, but soon proved to be a hard worker and a wonderful colleague who could always be relied on. We truly appreciated her presence and the positive spirit she shared with everyone. You will always be welcomed here ;) Thank you!

As a first experience I couldn't have chosen a better place. The environment is wonderful, nice and flexible shifts, in front of the beach, all meals included and with great people. I was able to practice English daily in contact with volunteers and workaways and also learn about their environmental and sustainable projects. Rating 1000 for manager Natacha, incredible and very human person, makes you feel like part of the family. A special hug to Diogo and Rita who are the founders of the project and also excellent people. I highly recommend this experience and hope to see them again.

Tarik quickly became part of the family at Impact Beach House. He is such a wonderful person — kind, polite, mature, and responsible — always ready to help with a big heart and a positive attitude. Super flexible and talented, he supported us with driving, maintenance, and even some tech-related tasks where his skills were a huge help. Beyond his work, Tarik is the best kind of colleague: bringing joy, good energy, and a spirit of collaboration that lifted the whole team. Thank you Tarik!

The hostel has a great mission of sustainability and promotes conscious travel. I sincerely appreciate how the house includes different climate-conscious features, such as appliances and second-hand furniture. However, the organization of the program could improve. As a world packer, I would have appreciated more communication or structure within the experience. The team, for example, could incorporate weekly or bi-weekly team meetings with volunteers, especially for the social media staff. I also recommend that volunteers have strong Portuguese skills to integrate more with the team.

Sydney joined us to support with social media and communication. While she was always polite and receptive to feedback, this experience showed that she requires very clear directions, structured schedules, and close follow-up in order to perform her tasks. She has potential in creating photo and video materials, and perhaps in a different environment she might develop her skills further. Thank you for your help Sydney and we wish you all the best in future volunteering experiences!
