The the shelter is an amazing opportunity for anyone who loves to connect with nature and loves animals . you can help change the lives of dogs and cats , giving them the love they deserve and helping them be adopted. Monica runs the the shelter amazingly , she is hardworking and clearly cares a lot for the animals . she can be stern , but it comes from her massive love for the animals and that is easy to see . The surrounding area is beautiful and peaceful . The house is cozy and comfortable and the animals are either extremely friendly or a bit shy , none were aggressive . i would recommend!

My stay at the the shelter was an experience for sure. It has been a very enriching experience to care for the animals at the the shelter every day and get to know them. While it is an enriching experience it is also hard work. Sometimes you will be confronted with situations you may not know how to handle. But if you try to keep an open mind the other volunteers will certainly have your back. Monica herself is a very stubborn woman, set in her ways. She knows what is best for the animals she cares for which is why she does not appreciate new ideas or new approaches to caring for the animals.

To be honest, this experience was really quite difficult. The dogs are absolutely lovely and deserve the world, and if you love animals and want to make a proper impact this is for you. The feeling of sending 14 dogs off to get adopted can't be beaten. But please know that the work is dirty, difficult and repetitive, and Monica is a very hard person to work with. She can be very disrespectful with no remorse, and will just do things around the house without consulting any volunteers (such as taking all our food out of the fridge to defrost it). The upside is, Dawn is a lovely correspondent.

I have really enjoyed spending time with the dogs whilst at the the shelter and it is an experience I will never forget! I have never worked in an the the shelter before and I feel I have adapted well to the challenges we were presented with. I was lucky to have a great group of volunteers during my stay which helped make the experience . The work can be tough some days and monica can be slightly tricky to see eye to eye with , but I can see that she has dedicated herself to these dogs and is very passionate about their care.

I'll write a very honest review bc I don't think I was prepared for what it was by reading others' reviews. the the shelter is a place for people who are truly passionate about dogs & are coming here to make a difference. If you're looking for a free stay/leisure destination or just think dogs are cute and you wanna hang out with them, then you should not come. The work is really dirty and mentally challenging. Monica is a difficult person to deal with, but also very honorable for saving hundreds of dogs lives. I'm grateful for all the learning and growth, but I warn you - it is not for everyone.
