The experience

Hi. My name is Marco, Dutch. I live on my traditional sailing ship on the Portuguese coast and sail the islands in the Atlantic Ocean, just came back 2 days ago from Azores. Right now i am in Cascais Lisbon.
Time for maintenance again, and so time for you to step on board to help out and get the experience of living on a ship.
It's a come and go of people here on board, it's always dynamic and always a social happening here.

What you offer

30 hours of help per week

Painting & Decorating: Help with painting or decorating the property facilities.

Building & Repairing: Help with a wide range of repairs or building.

What you get

2 days off per week

Private Room: You will have a bed in a private room. In other words, a room just for you.

Breakfast: You are entitled to a free breakfast, every day of your stay.

Basic Internet Access: Basic speed internet for you to work remotely

Requirements

Intermediate English

Between 30 and 80 years old

Welcomes solo volunteers, couples, and partners of volunteers

Flights, Travel Insurance, Internal Transportation and Visa

Program Details

The jobs involved:
Sail repairs (I'll teach)
Painting, lots of that always
Cleaning
House hold tasks. Also lots.
Some carpentry when you have the skills.
And many other things.
So when you think you can be of help, then i love to hear from you.

For 10 years i sailed all around the globe at all oceans and i think i have some stories to tell and some experience to share. I am always eager to teach the curious and willing soul about everything that comes and goes with living on a ship at the oceans.

Activities & Shift

Boat jobs in the morning, free on the afternoon.

We don't have realy "rules"here.
But we do have some expectations, that is that you respect social boundaries, have love and understanding for others and your surrounding. Than all comes good in our world here on board.
