My experiences at TDS was amazing! Callie and Jason are great people who are really helpful and accommodating to you during your stay. The staff is very warm and welcoming, they are amazing cooks and the food is delicious. You really get to experience true Costa Rican culture here. I highly recommend this stay to anyone.

TDS is a great experience if you enjoy cooking/serving guests, living close to the beach, yoga/spirituality, meeting locals, and immersing yourself in the local community! Work was 5 hour shifts 5 days on 2 off and the management was very respectful of this. Also the work shifts were very fun, and the people you work with are so amazing! Everyone was so patient, kind, and helpful, and this is a great experience if you want to improve your Spanish speaking skills. Some things to note are you around 5km outside town, so I recommend getting a bike so you can go to town and beaches! Thank you TDS!

The people really make the experience here and I was blessed to have wonderful, collaborative, like-minded co-volunteers during my stay, there can be between 2-6 volunteers at any one time. There is a whole team of paid staff in addition to the volunteers, so if there is an issue that comes up it is not stressful to resolve, as there are lots of people you can go to for help and guidance. Tasks are varied so you don't get bored, working in the kitchen was my favorite task. I feel this retreat center attracts really good people, both retreat guests and volunteers. Hope this helps!

My time at the lodge was definitely amazing! I was able to practice my Spanish so much more. Meet amazing people in each Yoga group that came! Callie is such a beautiful soul and she truly made my time there amazing. She is super understanding and involved, she is also a mom and was there for me during a few emotional moments haha. The kitchen staff felt like family and made me feel at home. I will say… if you are not prepared to live jungle life (no AC, the bugs, cold showers) then definitely prepare to adjust. Once i adjusted, the lodge really felt like home.

The location of the lodge and the nature around it is great and very beautiful. It is located directly in the jungle which can be a very nice and tranquil environment but also comes with a lot of jungle animals, bugs and mosquitoes. We would not recommend the experience for pairs of volunteers as you will basically have no free time together. The volunteer house was gross with a lot of bugs and a strange smell. The host was the worst part. She was rude, disrespectful and told lies. The website promises a lot of things that are not reality such as the chores described. 2 out of 10.

In addition to the multiple difficulties you had in completing assigned work and your assigned turns, we also found that the way your space and house was mantained over your visit was at a very low standard and had to do serious deep cleaning after your surprise departure. I had a truly great time at TDS!! Playa Chiquita, the grounds, and all of the amazing and welcoming people were beautiful. We had 5 shifts for every 7 days so it's possible to work more than 5 days in a row but you get a meal with every shift! The main tasks were helping in the kitchen and serving guests, raking, cleaning the yoga deck, and creating a post for their Instagram. Also I was scheduled to babysit the owners' two kids for the month I was here. The yoga classes are everyday and just $6. Overall, I loved my experience at TDS!

The staff, volunteers, and people of Puerto Viejo made my time at the lodge Sueños something I'll never forget. You stay right across the street from a beautiful beach with beautiful blue water and are walking distance from cafes, restaurantes, a local super market, and more. The entire staff was always so kind and willing to help me if I ever needed anything. I'm so grateful to have been able to spend a month here and to have had the chance to meet everyone I did at the lodge. Something to be aware of, as it's not clearly stated on here, is you only get a meal on the days that you work.

Na muy linda experiencia en el alojamiento Sueños. El lugar es tranquilo y acogedor, el trato con los voluntarios es excelente, las tareas son sencillas y se respetan los horarios tal como se acordó. Si buscan tranquilidad y quieren conocer el Caribe de Costa Rica, el alojamiento Sueños es el lugar indicado.

Es una persona increíblemente atenta, comprometida con las tareas, responsable, solidaria y de una amabilidad muy genuina tanto con el staff como con los huéspedes que nos visitaron. Además de ser ordenado, presta atención a los detalles, siendo todas estas características de gran valor en cualquier organización. Sin duda, puede adaptarse a diferentes situaciones siempre con la mejor actitud y sin perder el norte de su misión. ¡Éxitos y amor siempre!

Para ser la primera experiencia que tengo como voluntariado, definitivamente recomiendo el alojamiento sueños. El ambiente es muy agradable, las chefs, tanto Mey como Esther son dos seres humanos maravillosos que te abren las puertas a sus cocinas y te enseñan lo que se requiere y más! Me gustaría que desde el principio hubiera claridad con respecto a las comidas y los intercambios de horas extras (cosas que ya hicieron) pero todo lo demás estuvo excelente. Estoy seguro de que las amistades que me llevo de este lugar son para toda la vida (:

Eric es un voluntario excepcional para cualquier equipo. No solo realizó todas las tareas que le asignamos, sino que también nos ayudó con muchas otras que no estaban incluidas en nuestro plan original. Fue excelente en la cocina, un ejemplo a seguir en atención al cliente y muy útil en el mantenimiento y otras tareas físicas. Eric sin duda sería un gran activo para cualquier equipo y, lo más importante, es amable, atento y cariñoso.

Estar en TDS como mi primer voluntariado fue una experiencia inolvidable! El staff te ayuda mucho y te hace sentir bienvenida desde el día uno. Te ayudan a través del tiempo que estés aquí con cualquier duda del turno , así como dudas locales y hasta consejos personales. La casa de voluntarios es hermosa, tiene todo para vivir cómodamente. El wifi de la casa de voluntarios falla constantemente, debido a la zona (es normal), entonces es importante tomarlo en cuenta por si requieren trabajar desde acá. Se cocina y come muy rico y las tareas diarias son muy tranquilas, se trabaja desde el amor
