Experience simple farm life with friendly family in Kathmandu

Sunny Homestay was incredible! I spent a week helping with cutting up cauliflower scraps for the chickens and planting rice. Nischal's family was so warm โ€” his mom even walked me to get my ears pierced, and his dad showed me the hidden community gym. Despite hosting 100+ travelers, they made everyone feel special. I loved bonding with other travelers and watching their sweet 2-year-old's curious energy light up the multi-gen home. Truly unforgettable hospitality and a beautiful cultural exchange! One heads-up: it was a bit hot in the rooms (but it was summertime, and I do tend to run hot).

Had a great time at Sunny Homestay with Nischal and his family! Brekkie + dinner were provided and both were adequate. Everyone was extremely friendly and the other volunteers and I had plenty of free time to explore Kathmandu on our own. It was also really cool to witness a few Nepali festivals and discover some great local eats during my stay. The work was varied but always easy. A small downside is that there's no wifi in the bedrooms but you can always go downstairs to get reception. As long as you're flexible, this is a solid place to stay in KTM.

What a grate homestay experience! I had a really nice time with Nischal, the rest of the family, and the other volunteers, thay all were very welcoming and intersting people. Work is very flexible and fluid, which means that you have a good operatunety to explore kathmandu. I would really recommend this for people looking for a chill and local experience

I absolutely loved staying in Sunny Homestay. The family was very welcoming. They helped me to understand the local culture and gave me a lot of tips on what to visit in Nepal. They also took good care of me when I got sick. A fun part of the experience was that there are always staying multiple volunteers in the house. We did a lot of things together, which made me feel more comfortable as a solo traveler. Thank you everyone for the heartwarming experience!โ™ฅ๏ธ

I had a really good time in Nishal's house, a lot of sharing with the family and the volunteers. Also we had the time to visit the city, the temple and everything. I recommend this Homestay, I really appreciate my time here.

I found woofing very peaceful and a great way to meet lots of travellers. But I found it more like a cheap hotel than a woofing experience. If you want to have time to enjoy Kathmandu, it's perfect. The family is very flexible about a lot of things. But others a little less so and the atmosphere and sharing between the family is not very present. Too much tik tok. I often had the impression of being in a hostel rather than in a family and sharing beautiful moments together. Good value for money but not a family discovery.

Wow I was not expecting this,we of course didnโ€™t want to disturb you while you stay all day in your room with your privacy.I think you will appreciate when you grow up.You should also be eager to talk and ask donโ€™t expect us to do the whole part as you should also ask and try to learn. If you are not open how can we be?if you stay at other home donโ€™t use other stuff without the permission like machine going rooms you are not allowed Paul. I did had things but I told you Infront not here!

I loved staying with Nischal and his family! I always feel hospitality. Nischal is very helpful and I always felt support during my trip. This experience is the great way to get in touch with local culture and to know about Nepali traditions and way of life. I was lucky to see the festival celebration and take part in ceremony which the family had in their house. Moreover Nischal took me on a motorbike trip which was truly amazing! The views were fantastic and we had no tourists and very less people around which makes the experience unique. Thank you for your kindness and hospitality!

Nischal and his family are the most welcoming and nicest people ever. They will cook you the best food and give you the best advice. They really took care of me when I got sick and were always ready to take me on an adventure. It's also a great way to meet backpackers from all over the world and sing karaoke with them and Nischal's dad. I also strongly advise you to go on a motocycle tour with Nishal or any treck he organizes 'cause it's a great way to discover the country. I'm truly gonna miss them and their lovely home <3

Nischal is a very chill and friendly host. He takes good care of the volunteers and welcomes volunteers into the home stay like family. There's not much work to do work wise but lots of interesting time spent learning about Nepalese culture. The sunny home stay is a very good way to start travel in Nepal and the family is very good to be around.
