The experience

Join our small hotel team! We are a family focused hotel in downtown Hilo. We would love to add another bright member to our already wonderful team. Daily tasks vary from front desk support, housekeeping, laundry, breakfast attending, and general cleaning.

You will truly feel safe, welcomed and respected with us. We offer all of our volunteers a private room with shared bathrooms. Additionally, our volunteers have a shared kitchen and tv room.

What you offer

25 hours of help per week

Kitchen Hand: Help prepare, finish and serve meals.

Cleaning: Help clean the kitchen, bedrooms, bathrooms and common areas.

Housekeeping: Help with changing the bed linens and general housekeeping.

Reception: Help with check-ins, check-outs and guest assistance.

What you get

2 days off per week

Private Room: You will have a bed in a private room. In other words, a room just for you.

Breakfast: You are entitled to a free breakfast, every day of your stay.

Dinner: You are entitled to a free dinner, every day of your stay.

Free Laundry: You can use our laundry room freely.

Bikes at your disposal: You can use our bikes any time you want.

Pick Up: We will pick you up when you arrive, and take you to our property.

Surfboards: You can use our surfboards as much as you want.

Use our equipped kitchen: Feel free to use our kitchen and make your own delicious food.

Requirements

Intermediate English or Fluent English

Between 18 and 35 years old

Welcomes solo volunteers, couples, and partners of volunteers

What's not included

Flights, Travel Insurance, Internal Transportation and Visa

Program Details

We accept volunteers from all over the world! Typically, our volunteers have 5 five-hour shifts per week. We offer flexible scheduling and a pleasant work environment. Longer stay are welcome and can be discussed. Please note that we prefer longer than 4 week stay. Our ideal length of stay is 12+ weeks.

Activities & Shift

Shifts are scheduled a week in advance. Our volunteers typically support the front desk, hotel housekeeping, cooking, laundry and cleaning common areas.

Rules

We have a zero tolerance policy for drugs and smoking. Also we do not allow guests to be brought back to the hotel.
