I really loved staying at the hotel! The area is amazing, you get plenty of free time to go on hikes and do other activities to discover it. The work is easy to grasp and the tasks are varied. Mostly I loved being in the kitchen and trying out new recipes with Mairead. I really recommend this volunteering project if you want more of a work experience and if you want to know more about how a hotel works :).

It was a pretty good experience, I can recommend coming here. The landscape is just amazing, perfect for hiking, biking and getting in touch with nature. Thankfully I could always lend one of their E-Bikes to explore the area. The amount of work was fair, still enough free time during workdays and 2 days off. What was confusing in the beginning, the position is titled "Work outdoors in our garden...", I mainly worked indoors making beds, cleaning rooms, caring about guests. In general, the communication could have been a bit better.

I worked 80 hours my first week at Wild Rose, and was still shown zero respect by the hosts. They belittled me and stated that I worked 40 hours, and when I told them I was tracking my hours they got upset. They take 2-3 Worldpackers at a time to be the full-time employees and run their 18 room hotel, however they do not act like professional employers at all. They do not tell you your schedule, they do not compensate fairly, and they will get upset with you for skiing or going out late on your hours off. They treat you like a child but want you to act like a full-time employee.

Sarah you were here for 10 days of which you skiied 8 . I was only upset with you for skiing and going out when it interfered with your work. A nap during the breakfast shift is hard to deem acceptable.Anytime i scheduled you for work it didn't work with your skiing plans or the bus timetable ...there was always an issue.Respect is a two way street. We have never had anyone from Worldpackers like you before or since. The experience was not a pleasant one.

My experience volunteering at the hotel was wonderful! Mairead, Alan, Elara and Marble are a great easy-going family that include you in their plans. They are very hard-workers and you can tell that they care for their hotel and its standards. The communication on the daily tasks was great; there is always something to do and they are different every day which makes it entertaining. There is lots in the surrounding areas to explore (and you can take furry Marble to accompany you). The hours were respected and Mairead's meals are delicious and filling:) I def recommend this experience!

There are no words to describe my experience at the hotel, it was magical, I wouldn't changed a thing. I'm really grateful with Mairead, Alan, Elara and Marbles for making me feel so welcome and at home. They are the most hard workers, passionate about what they do that I ever met. I know the hotel will be the most famous hotel in Neukirchen and Austria. The work was great, I had the chance to learn about marketing for a hotel and I always felt supported on the tasks I was doing. The shift is perfect and you'll have plenty of time to enjoy the beautiful mountains

Volunteering here was the best experience. Maried and Alan were incredible host, making me feel like part of their family from the very first moment. I had a wonderful time with them, as well as with Elara and Marble. The work designing the web page was easy and I enjoyed completing the tasks. Additionally, the Hotel was cozy and the food prepared by Mairead was delicious. I had plenty of time to explore the stunning views and nearby places around Neukirchen. I highly recommend this experience and if I ever the chance to return, I would definitely do it again. Thank you for all the attentions!

This is a family-run hotel, Mairead and Alan are very generous and kind hosts, they really do their best to make you feel welcome and like part of the family. The tasks are simple and they'll never ask you to do anything beyond your capabilities or what you're comfortable with. There's always something to do in the hotel, no two days are the same. This was my first Worldpackers experience and they welcomed me with open arms and taught me how to do all the tasks for running a hotel. I would absolutely recommend the experience at the hotel!

I had a great experience at the hotel, the family is absolutely wonderful, welcoming, and mindful of your desire to explore the area and contribute to tasks/jobs that suit you and your abilities. It is a family owned business and Alan and Mairead are both hard working individuals. They can always use help towards various projects and tasks, I recommend being flexible, proactive, and communicative, and it will be a great time! BIG thank you to this family - youwill all be missed and I look forward to visiting the hotel some time in the future!
