The experience

We welcome people from all over the world to participate as a volunteer in a Buddhist community. We are located in historic listed buildings and grounds and you will be helping mostly with a mix of tasks such as painting, decorating, building repair and gardening. Our supervisors are looking forward working with you!


What you offer

30 hours of help per week

Painting & Decorating: Help with painting or decorating the property facilities.

Gardening: Help grow plants and cultivate gardens

Building & Repairing: Help with a wide range of repairs or building.


What you get

2 days off per week

Shared Dorm: You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other travelers.

Team Dorm: You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other people.

Breakfast: You are entitled to a free breakfast, every day of your stay.

Lunch: You are entitled to a free lunch, every day of your stay.

Dinner: You are entitled to a free dinner, every day of your stay.

Free Events: Get free entrance for the best events in town.

Pick Up: We will pick you up when you arrive, and take you to our property.

Intermediate English or Intermediate German

Over 18 years old

Program Details

Volunteers are welcome to take part in many of the spiritual activities at the centre. This includes meditations, weekly teachings, weekend courses and daily chanted prayers (pujas).
Please note, the spiritual programme is in German. We try our best to organise translation into English for you.


Activities & Shift

The work days are usually from Monday to Friday, 9:30 to 17:30, but depending on whats going on, it may also include weekends.
You will have two days free each week where you can take part in the spiritual activities, explore the beautiful surroundings, visit Berlin or just relax in the friendly atmosphere of the centre.


Rules

Please respect some basic Buddhist principles, such as: not drinking alcohol, smoking, or eating meat on the premises. We also ask you not to play musical instruments or to listen to loud music

A volunteering visit can be arranged for short or longer term, but will always start with a one week trial. The minimum visit is 2 weeks.
