Working at Oscar's the hostel was a super fun experience where I got to make lots of Korean and international traveler friends!! Both the accommodation and in the hostel were very welcoming spaces and I feel like I joined a family in Korea. The accommodation is very near to a subway station and town, so it was easy to access the hostel and Seoul. Also, I felt very safe in this place.

Working at the hostel was my first volunteering program and one of the best so far. Oscar is a really nice host and the hours are reasonable. You don't always work the full hours so there's time to explore Korea. The accommodation is also close to the subway station so you get to visit Seoul and other parts of Korea. I highly recommend this program, you won't regret it! I hope to come back in the future.

This volunteering was so different from what I've done before, I really like socializing with people so I got happy when I had to talk with the “students” even though sometimes was kinda hard because they don't speak english so good or they are not talkative, it requires an extra effort. The host was so nice and the atmosphere at the academy as well, the house was so nice if you like living in community, the only thing is that they don't provide full meals and that it is 1 hour far from Seoul, but I would come back !!

It was a really amazing first volunteering experience! I liked it really much! I'm sad that I have to leave and I'll miss the studio and the hostel :( but I made some many friends (Korean and international) that I probably come back to the hostel some other time

I recommend this experience to anyone! You will get to meet wonderful people (you share an appartment with the other volunteers), I only stayed for 2 weeks but I was very sad to leave and would have loved to stay longer. The students are very kind and generous. Oscar is a good host just do your part of the job and you will be rewarded by a smile. The work is very fair, your work from 5.30 to 9.30 pm (sometimes less) so you still have time to explore seoul during the day or go out at night.

I want to start by saying that it was such a cool experience! I got to talk to so many locals and although it was already my second time in Korea I learned a lot more about the culture just by discussing it with the guests of the hostel. The work is genuinely interesting, however, be prepared that it can be a little mentally draining if you have a lot of lessons everyday. The host and other volunteers were all very friendly and I met people who truly became my friends:) All in all, I highly recommend visiting, you will definitely not regret it!

It was my first volunteering and it was amazing! I loved working at the café and also the connection made with the students, I left with some friends! Also, my coworkers/ roomies were amazing and it felt like a family :) Oscar is a good person and a good boss, I had to leave earlier and he was comprehensible about it. Also, the quality of the Language studio is so good he did a good job. However, the distance between the hostel and Seoul is not something to be underestimated.

I had a wonderful time here and absolutely loved the hostel work. It is very generous for only needing to have friendly conversations for up to 4 hours per day as work. You should be aware, however, that although it mentions 3 meals per day, this just means that eggs, bread, and Ramen are provided at the apartment, so you should definitely expect this to be more like one or maybe 2 meals per day, but you'll definitely need to eat out at least once per day.

My time the hostel has been amazing! The people I lived with made this experience the best. The coliving is a nice apartment that even with 6 people doesn't feel small. Working hours are usually from 5 until 22. But it doesn't really feel like work, it's just great fun! You don't get 3 full meals. But all the basics are provided: bread, eggs, ramen, oil, washing detergent… if you want fruit, veggies and meat you have to do some shopping or go out to eat. It's only 54 minutes to the Partyhub of hongdae, so going out is easy! 100% would recommend!

This the hostel is an excellent way to see Seoul and speak with locals. As other reviews point out it is about an hour to the centre and the food provided is just basic ramen and a few other essentials. the hostel itself is a nice place to live as there are enough restaurants and things to do there. The work is easy and hours sometimes end up being less than 4 hours a day so I would recommend this to anyone who wants to explore Seoul.
