About this Role
Join our mission to transform the lives of rural and vulnerable children through education. As a teacher, you’ll work closely with local teachers to support learning activities, tutor students, and create a fun, engaging classroom environment train dancing activities and physical fitness in children as well as sports


What you offer

4 hours of help per day

Painting & Decorating: Help with painting or decorating the property facilities.

Gardening: Help grow plants and cultivate gardens

Social Work: Help with volunteer work in local projects and communities.

Building & Repairing: Help with a wide range of repairs or building.

3 days off per week

Shared Dorm: You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other travelers.

Intermediate English

Between 18 and 80 years old

Welcomes solo volunteers, couples, and partners of volunteers

Are you passionate about education, creativity, and inspiring the next generation? Join and become part of our mission to transform the lives of vulnerable children in rural Uganda through learning, play, and empowerment.
As a Volunteer you’ll work alongside other teachers and bring energy to school life through dance, physical fitness, and sports. This is a hands-on opportunity to help children gain confidence, improve academic performance, and express themselves through fun, structured activities.
What You will Do:
Assist teachers in the classroom with English, math, science, and other basic subjects.
Offer one-on-one or small group tutoring for students who need extra support.
Lead or co-lead dance and fitness sessions to promote health and confidence.
Organize and coach sports activities like football, netball, and games.
Encourage creativity, discipline, and teamwork through fun extracurricular activities.
Help create a positive and engaging learning environment that motivates students.

What We’re Looking For:
A love for working with children and a positive, energetic attitude.
Experience or interest in teaching, tutoring, coaching, or performing arts. Flexibility, patience, and willingness to adapt to different learning styles.
No formal teaching degree required—just passion and commitment!

Activities & Shift

Volunteer Activities
Classroom Support & Tutoring
Assist teachers in delivering lessons (English, Math, Science, etc.) Help students with classwork and provide one-on-one tutoring.
Prepare and organize simple learning materials or visuals.Support classroom management and encourage participation.Dance, Physical Fitness & Sports
Organize morning or afternoon warm-up sessions and fitness routines.
Teach basic dance choreography to children (local or international styles).
Plan and facilitate sports like football, netball, running, and traditional games.
Promote teamwork, discipline, and body confidence through fun movement.
Creative & Extracurricular Activities, Lead activities like storytelling, drawing, music, and team-building games.
Help organize school events, talent shows, or friendly sports competitions.
Collaborate with staff to celebrate cultural days and special events.
Mentoring & Motivation Encourage students and young girls to to stay in school and dream big.
Act as a role model and provide emotional support and mentorship.

Suggested Shifts

📅 Days: Monday to Friday
🕒 Hours: 4–5 hours/day
Sample Weekly Schedule:

Monday 9am–1pm Classroom support + tutoring
Tuesday 9am–12pm Teaching + 1hr dance/fitness session
Wednesday 9am–1pm Sports (football, netball) + tutoring
Thursday 9am–12pm Teaching + creative arts (drawing, storytelling)
Friday 9am–12pm Dance/sports practice + group learning games

➡️ Afternoons (Optional):

2pm–4pm: Sports coaching, dance rehearsals, or student clubs
➡️ Weekends: Free or optional cultural immersion, village tours, or volunteer-led f


Rules

Volunteers are encouraged to work with one of our staff members for guidance and interpretation in the local language.
Night activities are not allowed and not good for volunteers while with us.
Smoking in public place is not good.
