My time at the home Duveilla was wonderful! Faye and her family are the kindest souls who make you feel at home instantly! The tasks are very well explained and the work is difficult but rewarding. When the weather allows, there is some nice scenery for bike rides and the games room offers a space for volunteers to play ping pong or darts. I especially enjoyed the home cooked meals and the comforting albeit slightly crazy family dinners! Thank you for such an amazing time at the home, I highly recommend :))

Faye and her family were wonderful hosts! Faye explained how she wanted each task to be done at the beginning of the day and if I had any questions she was always willing to answer. Since some days the tasks were very quick to complete I would help another volunteer so we could finish them quickly and enjoy the free time. I loved all the time I spent at the home: working, petting Scratchy, riding the bike around the little town, having dinner together and chatting and then learning to play chess in the games room!!

I've spent really good time in the home! Faye is a wonderful warm person. All the tasks were well organized and instructions very clear. Food and accommodation were absolutely great. Each day we had dinner together and it was delicious and nutritious. There is a gameroom available for volunteers so we could spend our free time playing ping pong or darts which was fun. Its the perfect place to relax slow down and spend long lazy days out in the sun surrounded by nature. There wasn't really much more to do besides bike rides or reading which for more than 3 weeks could get a bit boring.

I had a really nice time at the home. The house is full of charm and the surrounding nature quite peaceful. Faye is a great host, very attentive and respectful. I especially appreciated her cooking vegetarian variations of dinner for me every day. Work is clearly structured, everybody gets their own to-do list, which is is nice because it allows for clear communication and flexibility regarding working hours. At the same time it could make the experience feel a little too transactional at times. Although that is surely just a matter of personal preference. Overall big recommendation :)

My stay in the home was a great experience when it comes to social aspect. Other volunteers made my stay really fun and lovely. Faye's place was very cozy, meals were great and as a volunteer you can spend the evenings in a game room, which was really nice. However the work was demanding and the tasks usually took much more time than the host assured, which is why I felt pressured and worried that I'm not meeting Faye's expectations, while doing the best I could.

Hi Maya, I believed you left as I was unexpectedly travelling not because you felt pressured. You had very easy tasks to complete, weeding and planting bulbs with zero expectations on completion time as you were supposed to stay for 1 month and not 2 weeks. We are grateful for the work you did and we enjoyed getting to know you.

Château the home is a beautiful property in the French countryside. The facilities are perfect, comfortable & traditional, & everything I needed was provided. The food was delicious & meal times were enjoyable. Each task is well structured & detailed. Although I learnt a lot about gardening & came prepared to work hard, I found the work physically intensive & each job came with expectation & a short time frame to complete, resulting in extra hours that weren't agreed upon. There was a lack of involvement from the host, only spending some dinners together.

Faye's the home is a lovely place with beautiful surrounding countryside and a lots of open land. The sleeping arrangements were great, and we had a lot of space as volunteers. The food was also very nice. Faye is organised and accommodating. The work was demanding and we were expected to work long hours to complete a task or project. The experience felt more transactional, which was different from other experiences I have had. Also, the host wasn't very active in participating in activities with the volunteers.

Thank you Luke, yes unfortunately as you are aware, it was an extremely busy time for me and my children and therefore I did not actually eat a dinner for 3 days in a row. So however much I would have liked to have joined dinners it was not possible. Sorry you felt the work was demanding, your project which I allowed for 1 month to complete was actually was completed in 1 weekend by my.casual worker after you left.
We enjoyed getting to know you know and we are grateful for your help.

Staying at the home was a great first volunteer experience. Faye and the family are so sweet always made me feel welcome. After dinner we sometimes played card or board games making it feel like home. The tasks were layed out at the beginning of they stay and you can always ask questions for clarification and Faye walks you through specifics.

This place has an amazing location, there is a lake pretty close and you can see the Pyrenees, not to mention about the atmosphere of this old-fashioned building. The tasks were nice and pretty demanding, sometimes I felt them too much. Faye and Ben are kind and the food was delicious. I really liked that I could cycling and playing ping pont and darts with the other volunteers in the game room. P.S. I MISS YOU SCRATCHY
