The experience

Established in 2014, our project is a non for profit Non-Governmental Organization registered with the national NGO Bureau of Uganda with registration No.1521 and file number MIA/NB/2014/07/1230. also registered in Netherlands as Public Based Organization (PBO) with registration number PSIN 826155753:
We are mandated to helping most vulnerable and marginalized Children to access opportunities to reach their full potential


What you offer

12 hours of help per week

Child Care: Caring for, playing with, and spending time with children.

Teaching Sports: Teaching or assisting the host, guests, or local communities in practicing sports or physical activities.

Social Work: Help with volunteer work in local projects and communities.

Teaching Languages: Teaching a language to the host, guests, or local communities.


What you get

2 days off per week

Private Room: You will have a bed in a private room. In other words, a room just for you.

Shared Dorm: You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other travelers.

Team Dorm: You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other people.

Tent: You will sleep in a tent at a camping site.

Breakfast: You are entitled to a free breakfast, every day of your stay.

Lunch: You are entitled to a free lunch, every day of your stay.

Dinner: You are entitled to a free dinner, every day of your stay.

Free Laundry: You can use our laundry room freely.

Language lessons: Take free language classes at our place.

Use our equipped kitchen: Feel free to use our kitchen and make your own delicious food.

Certificate: Get a certificate of completion after you finish your experience.


Requirements

Beginner English

Between 18 and 80 years old

Only hosts solo volunteers (doesn’t accept couples or partners)

Program Details

Hi, I am Denis Kiirya, Executive Director Shines Children's Foundation . We currently looking for Volunteers from world parkers to come and help us at our foundation here in Uganda. backpackers will help in teaching at our foundation school, being involved in the community health project, help in community empowerment projects, training young children football and caring for the needy and orphaned children.

In return, we shall offer accommodation and three meals while you are volunteering with us, we shall offer language exchanges and, teach you new language , wash your clothes and show you Uganda, the pearl of Africa.


Activities & Shift

Worldpackers will be in involved in the following activities;

1. Teachers- You will teach for three hours per day for the 4 days, this program runs from Monday to Friday, so the Volunteer will pick four days our of 5 working days .

2. Football coach- You will coach the children ages 4 to 16 years football and net ball, these will always run from Monday to Thursday and this will always be for 3 hours per day.
3. Community empowerment projects- In this program , Worldparkers will interact and be involved in community programs, such as women's group, youth groups, grannies groups and young famers groups. . it will always take 3 hours for each group and for four days in a week.
4 Child care- We have children whom we care for, but this is done from designated homes, in this program we do cleaning children, feeding and clothing, its for 3 hours a day and for four days in a week.
