Babysitting our 5 yo boy in Lucca, Tuscany!

I came to the farm to help with the olive harvest and left hoping to return soon! The harvest consists of moving nets, using shakers, and carrying boxes of olives. The grove I worked on overlooked Lucca so I saw spectacular sunsets. The host family was friendly and supportive. Several times, Eleonora helped me get to the train station so I could explore nearby cities. Eleonora welcomed us in, sharing what she knows about Lucca, olive oil, and the local cuisine. I enjoyed bonding with her, Marco, and their son Lupo. the farm really felt like a home to me and I am grateful for experience!

The farm was both beautiful and cozy. I loved waking up in the morning, taking a breath of fresh air and listening to the soundscape. The work was physical but not hard, it was nice to feel connected to the earth while working. It was also a great way to bond with Elenora and the other volunteers. Elenora is absolutely great. Very down to earth, welcoming and great sense of humour. I absolutely loved spending my days working with her and learning what I could. Lupo, her and Marcos son, is absolutely adorable. Elenora, Marco and Lupo are a great trio who make you feel welcome.

This was my first experience as volunteer in worldpackers and I have to said that everything was perfect! The place, where we were living is so confortable and beautiful! The job, is easy to learn but I liked do it specially with people from other countries, speaking different languages... and of course, Eleonora and Marco are beautiful people! They helped us since the first moment, everything was easy with them! I have a lot of good memories from this experience! Thank you for everything!

My experience here as been wonderful. The host family are wonderful people! I have especially enjoy working with their little boy and practicing English. They family is welcoming, hard-working, respectful, and they are great with keeping communication. Here at the farm there is opportunity to learn many new skills or refresh what you already know. I feel it has given me a fresh experience to grow as a person, and meet new people! If you are looking for a beautiful place to stay while learning new skills I would absolutely recommend this to other WP's.

Eleonora and Marco are great hosts with plenty of experience working with volunteers. The home we stayed in was a very nice little bnb they run during the summer; we had wifi, good beds, hot water, food, etc. My biggest piece of advice for anyone wanting to do the olive harvest would be to bring a good pair of waterproof hiking/work boots and expect a fair bit of physical labor. As for clothes I would recommend like 2 or 3 sets of work clothes, a set of clothes to go out in, a set of pajama like clothes to chill in at the house. I really hope I can come back for the olive harvest next year!

The farm is a home in the middle of Tuscany and will take a part of your heart so beware! You are about to experience one life-changing worldpack. Eleonora and her family are amazing hosts and will take care that you do not lack anything. They will work alongside you, even if it's hard. Having said this, remember that it is a field and that you are going to be away from the city and the shops. If you want to connect with yourself and nature, this is your best option. The farm is located in a unique setting were I could see the wonderful violet tuscan sunset everyday. My private room was comfortable, cozy and very special (from a former pork house to a 5 star volunteer's ensuite!). I had a good time working for the aperitivo with Eleonora, Marco, and Nuncia, always in a relax disposition, making fun and enjoying while having an intense time of labour. They are a very nice couple, with a terrific little guy, Lupo, and my experience was great. I really enjoyed your place, your project and your company. I aim to come back for the olives harvest! :)

My experience at the farm was great. The place is incredibly beautiful, and the working times and activities are always respected. Eleonora and Marco are really relax and fun people that made me feel really comfortable there. I'm really grateful with them and their nice friends! From the first day I arrived I was received with welcoming smiles and a great attitude. That day Eleonora and her husband took me out to eat at a local restaurant and that gave us the opportunity to get to know each other. From that day everything has been great, I'm grateful to them the opportunity and for allowing me to stay in their home. This was my very first volunteering opportunity and I'm glad I landed here, at forestaría, with this great family. I'm so happy I got to spend time with Eleonora, her husband and her son and of course the amazing staff that works here.

Mi primera experiencia de World Packers y puedo decir que no cambiaría nada de ello! Eleonora y Marco tenían muy buenos detalles conmigo y con el resto de voluntarias. Como nanny de Lupo, muy bien, algunos días trabajé muchas horas, pero es cierto que se compensaba con los días libres después por lo tanto no tengo queja. Matraia es un pueblo preciosisimo, ubicado en medio de la montaña, rodeado de naturaleza para los que les gusta es un sitio increíble. Con muchas rutas para poder hacer, buen ambiente Lo único negativo, es el transporte público que te lleva a la ciudad. Solo es porla mañana
