The experience

During your stay at our hostel you will be part of our staff team and can enjoy everything that our hostel has to offer. The duties are scheduled for 5 hours a day, 5 days a week and include: helping to prepare the breakfast buffet, cleaning the common areas, and assisting our guests.


What you offer

25 hours of help per week

Cooking: Choose the menu, pick ingredients and cook delicious dishes.

Kitchen Hand: Help prepare, finish and serve meals.

Bartending: Make and serve drinks and help maintain the beverages inventory.

2 days off per week

Team Dorm: You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other people.

Program Details

*Volunteering Activities for the benefit Jerusalem travelers:
Communicating with guests providing assistance regarding hotel facilities & services; with planning the exploration of Jerusalem, hotel surrounding, and scheduling activities, sightseeing&tours; Providing assistance to hotel staff to improve performance of the departments delivering an improved guest experience in Jerusalem; Other activities some volunteers provide special value by putting to use special or specific skills to improve the Hotel facility, services, offerings etc.
*The program managers will make efforts to have the duties of the volunteer versatile and have each volunteer help different departments and provide assistance to guests. Having stated this, it must be stressed that considering personal traits, staff availability, operational requirements, a large part of the volunteering duties may not be versatile.


Activities & Shift

Shift and Weekly Schedule. To organize the schedule and contribution of the volunteering activities the POC will publish a weekly schedule allocating each volunteer shifts. Each shift will be made of five (5) consecutive hours and thirty (30) minute break. shifts hours may change from time to time as will be published on the weekly schedule, but are generally set as follows: Early Morning Shift 7:30 to 13:00; Morning Shift 8:30 to 14:00; Afternoon 17:00 to 22:00. Volunteering time. To maintain status within the program a volunteer must commit to a minimum of 5 shifts per week. We do not allow more than 6 shifts a week. Reporting to shifts on time is a requirement. Ending the activity when the shift ends is a requirement. Missing a shift, being late, or not ending the activity according to the schedule without prior approval from the POC or hotel manager may result in expulsion.

*This document and participation in the volunteer program are not intended to and shall not: (1) create an employment. (2) create a relationship of representation; the volunteer will not present himself as such representative (3) grant power or authority of decision making and/or control.
**Volunteers are guests of the hostel, must abide by the “House Rules”. ***Volunteers can remove themselves from the program at any time (drop out), by notifying or by not completing the duties assigned to them. such voluntary self removal from the program is not recoverable. In such a case: activities/duties will be ceased immediately, If the volunteer continues his stay in the hostel, he may be required to change bed/room, and from that time will not be excused the nightly fee for staying (will be charged the price of the stay in the price list). the hotel may refuse continue hosting the volunteer.
