Volunteers to support refugee education in Kakuma
The experience
We need volunteers which will help us and who will volunteer in our activities including.
1.Child Art therapy Teacher: facilitating children with the five core competencies of SEL through child art therapy:
2.Adult English Language
3.Peace Education in the community
4.3P the 3 principles of mind, thoughts, consciousness
5.Teacher : teaching children activities
What you offer
20 hours of help per week
Arts:
Help with painting, graffiti, sculpting or drawing.
Social Work:
Help with volunteer work in local projects and communities.
Teaching Sports:
Teaching or assisting the host, guests, or local communities in practicing sports or physical activities.
What you get
2 days off per week
Tent:
You will sleep in a tent at a camping site.
Lunch:
You are entitled to a free lunch, every day of your stay.
Free Events:
Get free entrance for the best events in town.
Pick Up:
We will pick you up when you arrive, and take you to our property.
Language lessons:
Take free language classes at our place.
Certificate:
Get a certificate of completion after you finish your experience.
Basic Internet Access:
Basic speed internet for you to work remotely
Requirements
Fluent English or Intermediate Swahili
Between 18 and 70 years old
Welcomes solo volunteers, couples, and partners of volunteers
Travel insurance
What's not included
Flights, Travel Insurance, Internal Transportation and Visa
Program Details
We expect perfect volunteers who will assist or help our project and to make sure they respond on our mission and activities .
the Worldpackers will expect the good relationship which we will provide to volunteers including their security when they are here with us also pictures and videos will be shared.
Activities & Shift
the volunteers daily activities include:
1. Education
A. Social and Emotional Learning (SEL):
- We train parents on positive parenting styles and the importance of strong relationships between schools, parents, and teachers.
- We train community and religious leaders on their roles in supporting children's education.
- We teach children the five core competencies of SEL through child art therapy:
- Self-awareness
- Self-management
- Social awareness
- Relationship skills
- Responsible decision-making
B. Peace Education:
- We equip youths with the knowledge, skills, attitudes, and values needed to foster a culture of peace within the refugee and host communities.
- We train youths on peaceful conflict resolution and non-violent dispute resolution methods.
C. Adult English Training:
- We provide communicative English language lessons for adults to help improve their daily interactions.
- Topics covered include:
- Nouns, Pronouns, Adjectives, Verbs, Adverbs
- Conjunctions, Interjections, Essay writing
E .The 3 Principles of Psychology (Mind, Consciousness & Thought):
- We train men and women on how to overcome stress, substance addiction, and negative thought patterns, helping them develop a healthier mindset and emotional resilience.
2. Life Skills Training
We train youths in practical vocational and entrepreneurial skills such as:
- Hairdressing and salon services
- Barbering
- Business creation and management
3. Livelihood Development
We train youths in permaculture farming to promote sustainable food production and income generation.
4. Psychosocial Support
We train community members in stress management, emotional regulation, and trauma recovery techniques.

the volunteer is not supposed to be a drug abuser, drunker, disrespect the cultures, abuse children and staffs. Not sharing information any how, smoke in public
