I really enjoyed volunteering at the hotel as Margarita made sure it was varied and gave me projects to complete. It felt like I was really contributing to the running and improving of the hotel (bed and breakfast) which provided a great opportunity to develop my existing skills. I had a lot of space to myself and could unwind after the working day (which was just 5 hours long). Margarita is a super relaxed and kind host, but be prepared to speak Spanish and adjust your rhythm to the family (no issues at all if you are looking for a more relaxed stay). Recommend staying here!! :)

Everything that was agreed beforehand was respected, the conditions of living were really good (private spaces for volunteers to share with the hosting family were really appreciated) and the work was unbelievably chill (for me usually repetitive, which I like: a lot of dishes to wash, some rooms for check-outs, but there are more varied tasks if you like, it depends on the season). The most outstanding part of this exact offer is the possibility to spend some time with a warm Chilean family and to improve speaking skills. I truly recommend the experience!

First of all I gotta say just how grateful I am to Jan and Margarita for hosting me. I also gotta thank them for being patient and considerate persons they are. I probably wasn't the easiest volunteer to host as I practically don't speak Spanish and I have a little online work that I had include into my daily schedule. And the hosts were very helpful and tolerant when it came to that. Jan and Margarita are both very professional, thoughtful and caring persons. I ended up spending five weeks at their place and it was a very good time. I wish I could write more. I definitely recommend!

Hosts are very experienced and you can tell they genuinely enjoy working with volunteers and really want to you to enjoy living with them. Great for anyone who wants to take a break from travelling as I did and stay in one place with a bit of community. Great opportunity if you want to hear more of the Spanish of Chile specifically.

This place was awesome! The hosts are very nice, helpful and welcoming! The tasks are easy and well discussed. It's easy to get along with everyone and there is a family atmosphere! And they have fun in teaching you spanish from chile 😂. They are also very patient and helpful with beginner spanish speakers 😁! I love this place and highly recommend it 💜!

At the hotel I felt like I was welcomed into another family for a month. Jan and Margarita are organized and extremely generous, they took us on several excursions, gave us recommendations on where to go, and they were flexible with the volunteer's schedules. The house is spacious and clean with a good kitchen and a good dorm for the volunteers. There were days where the work was very physical and days where the work was more relaxed, on average a medium level of difficulty. I was looking for a language immersion experience and everyone was patient and eager to help me learn. Thanks J&M!

I recommend this host for all volunteers. I felt like in family, Margarita and Gian (I don't know of i'm writing the name in the right way 🙂) are awesome people; the place is just amazing, peaceful and beautiful.

I had the best experience there you can imagine. It was like I was part of the family :) I worked in the garden aswell as in the bathrooms. I think I could help them with that and they repaid me really well. Not only with food and shelter but with trips, conversations and warm hearts. I really found some new friends in chamiza and would definitely recommend the place, it's beautiful there! Thank you guys for everything in these two weeks!
