The experience

This position involves a variety of tasks depending on the needs of the organization but generally includes repair work to support the daily functioning of our programs. By volunteering in this capacity, you will directly contribute to the overall mission of Misión Mexico Foundation, ensuring that the organization’s facilities remain in good condition to provide a comfortable and functional environment for the children and staff.


What you offer

25 hours of help per week

Painting & Decorating: Help with painting or decorating the property facilities.

Building & Repairing: Help with a wide range of repairs or building.


What you get

2 days off per week

Private Room: You will have a bed in a private room. In other words, a room just for you.

Shared Dorm: You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other travelers.

Lunch: You are entitled to a free lunch, every day of your stay.

Free Events: Get free entrance for the best events in town.

Use our equipped kitchen: Feel free to use our kitchen and make your own delicious food.

Certificate: Get a certificate of completion after you finish your experience.

Basic Internet Access: Basic speed internet for you to work remotely

Dedicated Workspace: Specific space for you to work remotely


Requirements

Intermediate English or Beginner Spanish

Over 21 years old

Welcomes solo volunteers, couples, and partners of volunteers

Flights, Travel Insurance, Internal Transportation and Visa


Program Details

-Volunteers to assist with maintenance and carpentry work at Mission Mexico Casa and other projects to help out for 4-5 weeks (please note: this is not a long-term position).
-Experience in general maintenance tasks, such as electrical, plumbing, carpentry, or painting.
-Ability to assess and troubleshoot issues with facilities and find cost-effective, durable solutions.
-Flexibility to take on various tasks as needed, from small repairs to larger facility projects.
-Conversational in either English or Spanish
-Valid ‘Working with Children Check’ / Criminal Records Check prior to placement.
-21 years or older
-Full driving licence, with willingness to drive in Mexico if required (Desirable not essential)


Activities & Shift

Shared accommodation and one meal a day provided in exchange for 5 hours work per day, 5 days per week (included weekends). Immediate start.
