This was my first time traveling solo and volunteering abroad, it was amazing thanks to the home, Maurizio, and their kids. I was shy at first, but the home made me feel like family. There were homemade meals which were delicious, and there was a good balance of work and free time. One day off weekly was enough for me to explore nearby cities. I enjoyed playing games and watching Dr. Binoc with Asia, and chess/checkers with Cristian. I also loved when we did group activities like flower picking or making slime! I absolutely recommend volunteering here, I loved it and already miss the kids.

Dear Kamila,
I want to sincerely thank you for taking such responsible and caring care of my children, Cristian and Asia. You handled everything with such attention and kindness.
I especially appreciate how you managed to wrap Asia’s ankle after she twisted it — honestly, the bandaging you did was even better than what the doctor did!
We’re truly grateful to you. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

The home has a welcoming family. The children are energetic and love to play outside when possible! I had a wonderful time exploring with them and on my own while they were at school. There is a grocery store, bakery and gelato shop within walking distance. They also have a bike you can use to explore near by villages. The schedule for work is structured and fair. The room has its own bathroom and is separate from the rest of the house. I did not speak any Italian before I came, but now I know common words and phrases. This is great for first time solo travelers like me!

I enjoyed my time with the home and her family. They always made delicious dinners and welcomed me like part of the family. The location is a little bit isolated and is on a busy street but the village of Castell'Alfero is within walking distance and there's a bus stop across the street. Although I had to leave early due to a family emergency they were very sweet and accommodating and have continued to check in to make sure everything's alright. If you're hesitating to volunteer here or have any questions feel free to reach out.

I really enjoyed spending two months with the home and her family! The kids Cristian and Asia are very bright, creative, inquisitive and fun. We continued to develop their English skills together, as well as playing inside and outside. the home and her family will feed you delicious food, as well as provide opportunities to explore the local area with the kids (day trips, museums, the pool, bike rides, etc). You will have a spacious room with a personal bathroom. The home is just outside Asti, but there is public transport to travel around. I will miss the kids very much! ❤️
