I had a nice time at the project. All of the staff and residents are lovely and welcoming, and the project itself is very well kept and peaceful. The accommodation was cosy and the meals provided were more than adequate, with snacks often also available. The work was manageable, and the working hours were respected. The only things I would say are to check which events/classes are happening at the project during your stay, as when I went the evening meditations were on a break, and also that the project is very remote, so keep that in mind when considering whether it's a good fit for you.

Best experience! the place is incredible, beautiful, great facilities and the food is very good. I had the opportunity to learn a lot and meet many wonderful people who are now friends that I want to take with me for life! the project is always very good and the temple is beautiful and pleasant! I definitely recommend it to everyone

Continuing Lara and my review... We will genuinely miss this place and the wonderful people we met there. 100% can recommend!! Ulverston is a small town with lots of local shops. The buses aren't that frequently but with the train you can visit bigger cities like Lancaster (40 min) or even Edinburgh (ca. 3h). MKMC has a special place in our heart, we will never forget this adventure!

This was our first volunteer experience and it was truly amazing! The people at the project are so welcoming, making you feel at home right away. We went to many meditations and you can learn a lot about buddism if you're interested. During our stay we volunteered at the cafe and we really enjoyed it. Even though it can be busy on sundays, the work environment still remains amazing. Everyone is helping one another and we had a great time with many laughs. It hardly felt like work at all! The food was delicious and the castle itself is a highlight to look at. We miss this place and the people

This experience was absolutely amazing for me. I could learn English in a safe space with caring people, have contact and learn the most important things about the Buddhist culture, as the environmental worries, self-care and the search for peace. I enjoyed every single day and i came back home a different person. I am very thankful to the people and the work I did there and I hope I can come again soon!

My experience at the project was amazing, the place is beautiful and the energy is warm and welcome. I'm very glad this was my first volunteering job, the tasks were very reasonable and fun. The amount of beautiful people I met is unreal, I learned about so many different ways of living and mindsets when talking to the other volunteers and staff. I extended my stay and loved every day, I would absolutely recommend this volunteering opportunity! Hope to return one day.

Volunteering at the project was one of the best decisions I've made. From the start, I was welcomed with warmth and kindness from everyone involved. I met so many wonderful people and learned invaluable lessons about Buddhism , about life that I will take with me forever. The work was enjoyable and manageable, the hours we respected and I had plenty breaks the project is well-organized, and the food was absolutely delicious! Overall, my experience was transformative, and I truly consider it one of the best places I've ever visited. I can't wait to return and highly recommend this experience.

The experience at the center was truly incredible! I spent three wonderful weeks enjoyed every moment, from the tasks to the amazing people there. Being part of the household allowed me to explore areas of the castle that I wouldn't have been able to see otherwise, which made the experience even more special. The hardest part was having to say goodbye.
