This was my first WorldPackers / hostel experience and it was amazing. The house is awesome, really starts to feel like a home after you get comfortable. The tasks are straightforward and easy to learn. I met other volunteers who I know consider to be some of my closest friends. If you want to join a family, learn to surf, and explore what Gijón has to offer this is the hostel for you. I can't recommend this hostel enough. JUST DO IT! You'll create life long friends and unforgettable memories! Huge shout out to the other volunteers and staff who make it such a welcoming place.

This was my first volunteering experience and couldn't ask for anything better! The volunteering experience is very well structured. You have your own space for toiletries and clothes. The tasks are very clear and straightforward. Gijón is an amazing city with great beaches! The hosts are super welcoming and kind people! Thanks Thathi, Alvaro and Britt! I will see you soon! 🫶🏼

My experience at the hostel was good. I enjoyed the staff, the way our tasks were distributed, and especially the sociable atmosphere of this volunteering. Although I faced some communication issues with the host, they were always open to suggestions for improving their management. All the volunteers were lovely, and I had a lot of fun surfing!

The hostel felt like second home for the time I was there. I couldn't have asked for a better team of volunteers. We had an amazing time together and I look forward to seeing every single one of them again! The hostel is a lovely and homely place. The room we stayed in was super comfortable and cozy. I arrived a few days after some management changes in the hostel and it felt a bit like a transitional moment for the whole team. By the time I was leaving all seemed to be sorted and changed for the better! Overall GSH was an amazing place for my first volunteering experience :)

I met some amazing people in the hostel, the city is beautiful as well. The surf lessons were great and the hostel itself was like a little family home :) There was a change with the leadership while I was there, and the transition was a little bit chaotic, but things were sorted out and I think overall the hostel will just continue to get better and better!

I couldn't have chose a better place to do my first volunteer. 4 weeks passed by so quick in this place. Loved the surfing classes, the amazing people a met and the best volunteers team. Having the ocean in front of you just crossing the street is incredible. I'll miss this place very much!

My time at GSH was the best! The hostel is well organised and the team was perfect! The leadership changed during my stay so it's likely that things are gonna work a bit differently from now on. That's why I can't really tell how the shifts&tasks are gonna be but I'm certain that the new managers are always open to communicate and listen to what the volunteers have to say, their feedback and feelings. Even though there are many options of what to do, in the end even just hanging around the hostel where the vibe and people are simply amazing becomes so much fun that you never want to leave♥️

I really enjoyed volunteering at the hostel. This hostel is probably the best and most unique one I've ever been to, being a super clean and cozy house that has a really chill, warm, and social atmosphere. The cleaning and reception tasks are straightforward and easy to learn, and the staff are lovely people. Thanks to GSH, I learned how to surf, learned how a hostel works, got to improve my Spanish quite a lot, and met lots of great people. On my free days I was also able to go on some trips around the region of Asturias. I'm super grateful for my experience at GSH! :)

I've already had several experiences in hostels, I've been on the road for 2 years and 7 months, but this is without a doubt the best hostel for volunteering! Ezequiel is an excellent professional and super humanized, he thinks about everyone's well-being and focuses on developing the best activities for volunteers! He created pizza, hamburger and margarita days, gave chocolate to everyone and also carried out activities so that everyone could interact and get to know each other better! This Hostel has the best structure for volunteers, it is super organized! Very grateful and happy !
