The experience

Live on the Atlantic in your own stone garden room and care of my gardens and cuddly pets.
Small guesthouse with big gardens .. I need help with chores
I would like long stay volunteers ( 2 weeks minimum) energetic and happy outside looking after the garden and chickens.
Some grass cutting, painting external walls and gardening will be needed during the stay

What you offer

30 hours of help per week

Animal Care: Help look after and take care of animals.

Building & Repairing: Help with a wide range of repairs or building.

Farming: Plant crops, sow seeds and help in outside tasks.

Gardening: Help grow plants and cultivate gardens

What you get

2 days off per week

Private Room: You will have a bed in a private room. In other words, a room just for you.

Breakfast: You are entitled to a free breakfast, every day of your stay.

Lunch: You are entitled to a free lunch, every day of your stay.

Dinner: You are entitled to a free dinner, every day of your stay.

Free Laundry: You can use our laundry room freely.

Get free drinks or beverages.: Drink up! Get free and tasty drinks for yourself.

Bikes at your disposal: You can use our bikes any time you want.

Pick Up: We will pick you up when you arrive, and take you to our property.

Surfboards: You can use our surfboards as much as you want.

Use our equipped kitchen: Feel free to use our kitchen and make your own delicious food.

Fast Internet Access: High-speed internet for you to work remotely

Requirements

Beginner English or Beginner French

Between 25 and 70 years old

Welcomes solo volunteers, couples, and partners of volunteers

Program Details

This is a volunteer opportunity for somebody to manage the gardens of a beautiful Georgian mansion house and care for very sweet pets. As it is a cold wet climate on the Wild Atlantic Way you should be aware that there is very likely to be cold, windy / stormy weather as well as beautiful blue skies. It rains and is sunny in the same day.

Please note its very remote here -this not a good location for partying.

Activities & Shift

Each day will be different, depends on the weather but some gardening, grass cutting, minor house repairs / painting walls if needed. Generally, the main purpose of the volunteer is to provide me with a reliable attention to the Gardens and occasionally care for dogs, chickens and goldfish.

Rules

So I don't want to sound strict.. but I have to tell you about the location so it's open and honest.

No smoking inside the house. No drugs and this is NOT a party house. We are not located in a village or town.. so there is no local pub /bar/club/restaurant and there is no public transport but we do provide a bicycle for our volunteers to go exploring the local villages 30 mins ride away..

Any volunteer needs to be aware it's possibly considered physically demanding work here especially if you are new to the experience of cutting grass or weeding.... - this is a large country house and gardens and not a small domestic modern house. so only people suited to physical lifting and gardening and exercising daily should apply.

No extra guests allowed at the property.
