Program Details
We need help with household chores such as room cleaning, housekeeping and miscellaneous chores.
We ask for 25 hours of work per week with a schedule ranging from 10am - 4pm, divided into 5 work days and 2 days off.
We offer accommodation and a budget of $60 per week for food.
We are an hour and a half from the Quebec City airport. We do not offer airport pick-up and drop-off service. However, we can pick you up in Baie-Saint-Paul which is the closest town (15 minutes).
What most people who arrive by plane do is to go to Quebec City for one or two days to visit it (it is very nice!) and then take the bus to Baie-Saint-Paul.
The experience is different in winter and summer. Calm and disconnection in winter, community and fun in summer. Both are unique experiences that appeal to different profiles of volunteers.
Activities & Shift
We request availability between 10am to 4pm (with a one hour lunch break).
This is because laundry is a collective activity that takes place every morning (10am) and general maintenance and cleaning must be done during check-out (11am) and check-in (4pm) hours.
However, in the event that there is not enough housekeeping to be done, there will be additional projects and any help we may require may occur outside of these hours. So some flexibility is also needed.
Rules
We ask everyone who is part of the team to respect their work, their team and the hotel.
This means respecting schedules and being professional with the team and the clients. After all, this is where we live, so we want to ensure a quiet space for all volunteers and clients.
In addition to this, we will send you a small document with a summary of the offer with a section of rules or terms and conditions, which basically revolve around the following:
- Sense of belonging and responsibility
- Common sense
- Kindness and respect
- No dramas (uncomfortable situations that intermingle personal and work, and that give more management work to the hotel).
- Everything is a privilege, nothing is a guarantee. The hotel reserves the right to provide or remove amenities depending on the behavior of the team and the well-being of the hotel.
