The experience

Hello travelers!
We are a mountain lodge located 15 min from beautiful Antigua, in a small village called El Hato. Our property stands in the middle of avocado fields, with one of the best volcano views in Guatemala. People come here to enjoy nature, do yoga, relax in hammocks, eat amazing food, take a break and escape from city life. A great opportunity to meet other travelers, mix with a lovely local community and enjoy stunning surroundings.

Program Details

We ask for a 6-week minimum commitment after a one-week trial, and we aim for people willing to stay on for longer. We promise it sounds like a long time, but we know for sure that you won't want to leave once you've experienced the place!

Help consists of greeting guests at the reception, dealing with the check-ins and check-outs, taking orders and serving/clearing tables, working as a barista (and a bit of basic bartending) and, in general, being present to keep the place lively and interact with customers. A pro-active and social personality is mandatory here! The atmosphere is relaxed but the place does get very busy from time to time. We are looking for people's lovers, who will be happy to help customers organise their activities and to make them feel welcomed, loved and listened to.
Previous experience in a similar role and a passion for travels, self development and human connections is very much appreciated. Being a team player, a nice human being and a participative person is mandatory.
We require our volunteers to be at least 21 years old and have good communication skills in English and Spanish!

***Also looking for YOGA TEACHERS!!!***

In exchange for your help, you will get a cabin, shared or private (private for longer stays/couples), three meals per day, a strong STARLINK internet connection, half-priced drinks, very good free coffee and a share of tips each month. You also get to use the temazcal as well as the yoga studio and workout equipment for free. Oh, and the incredible view, daily!
As a plus, we have partner hostels in different beautiful spots in Guatemala, offering our volunteers free nights when visiting!

Activities & Shift

Shifts are divided into morning, afternoon and evening shift. Each shift has a checklist in order to keep things more organized and efficient, we have a volunteer guide step by step and, last but not least, you will NEVER be left alone! We usually rotate shifts around to keep things fair, and try to work around volunteers' outside lives and schedules.
We have a weekly schedule that is posted every Friday or Saturday, so everyone knows when they are working, and we are flexible if volunteers want to switch shifts or ask someone to cover for them.

We like to have staff meetings once in a while to brainstorm and have feedbacks and answers to all possible doubts!
Two days off per week, all meals included, 50% on any other drinks or food!

Rules

Being respectful of other people's time and space is a must! We all live and work together, we ask that volunteers are comfortable living in community and are able to easily get along with others.
We have a bar and are always down to have some drinks, we aren't a party destination, but we are 15 minutes ride from a very lively Antigua!
