The experience

We have a unique situation . We have opened an ice cream shop at our residence/ acreage , we live almost right in the Canadian Rockies,( million dollar view from the front porch) and only 10 minutes from Waterton National park. We are a family of 5 and we could use a hand with scooping ice cream and some help around the house/ acreage, candidates would need to be comfortable with critters such as Goats, Chickens , peacocks, cats and dogs.

What you offer

20 hours of help per week

Gardening: Help grow plants and cultivate gardens

Child Care: Caring for, playing with, and spending time with children.

Animal Care: Help look after and take care of animals.

What you get

3 days off per week

Private Room: You will have a bed in a private room. In other words, a room just for you.

Dinner: You are entitled to a free dinner, every day of your stay.

Free Laundry: You can use our laundry room freely.

Free Hiking Tours: We’ll take you on excursions and hikes around town. For free!

Pick Up: We will pick you up when you arrive, and take you to our property.

Use our equipped kitchen: Feel free to use our kitchen and make your own delicious food.

Requirements

Fluent English

Between 18 and 50 years old

Only hosts solo volunteers (doesn’t accept couples or partners)

Flights, Travel Insurance, Internal Transportation and Visa

Program Details

We are a family that lives where people vacation, looking for some extra help. We have a private room/ bathroom available . We would hope to have someone for a few weeks at a time , we really only need help throughout the summer while our seasonal business is operational. A driver's license would be required as we live rural and I do not have time to drive someone around, we do have a spare Dodge Dakota we can lend .

Activities & Shift

We would require 2 days a week of help serving in the ice cream shop, ( approx 16 hours ) easy fun work. Some occasional help with household tasks , feeding / playing with the animals, watering the greenhouse/ garden.
