The Experience

Starting July we start harvesting for our 3 farmers' markets that last until Oct. Our helping hands start around 10am and farm until around 2 or 3 pm Mon - Fri with the weekends off to explore the area. We have a farmers market on wed and two on sat in Anchorage. We can also use a helping hand in the kitchen. We have family-style meals for dinner and a lo of our guests enjoy cooking or learning to cook up new meals. all meals are provided.

My first volunteer outside Brazil could not have been better! The people are amazing, the place is wonderful and you have plenty of time after work to explore and get to know the region. The work activities vary from day to day and you can learn a lot about the farm, organic food and how to live a healthier life. Randy and Vern are amazing people and I am so grateful for all shared knowledge!

Thank you so much for the wonderful experience and patience of the staff, as even with basic English I felt very welcomed, and I leave with a familiar feeling for the place and by the people.

Stockwell Farm offered everything the website stated and more. The work on the farm, including harvesting, washing the crops, and organizing was physical but very doable and didn't take much time at all. The work days where short and having 10 people there to help out made it a breeze. My stay at the farm involved much more than just farming, from hiking in the beautiful mountains that surround us and walks on the river, I always had something to do. Getting to meet the other workers there was a huge bonus and it was easy to make friends with them. I enjoyed every bit of my stay

Volunteering at the Stockwell Farm was honestly an incredible and life-changing experience for me. It was 10x better than I expected for my first work exchange program. I made personal and meaningful friendships with all the volunteers and staff and the owner of Stockwell Farms Vern was such an amazing and kind individual. Both him and Randy went above and beyond to make sure everyone felt at home and safe. I learned so much about growing food. I will 100% be returning to the Stockwell farm next summer and I can’t wait. Highly recommend!

An absolutely heartwarming and wonderous experience. An amazing way to connect with people and learn about nature. Everyone was so caring and giving to each other. The work is very doable and at convenient hours with amazing things to explore on hours off. My personal experience was incredibly wonderful and I would absolutely recommend this experience.
