Kilimohalisi is a project that is run in an area of approximately 49,000 meter squire. It is the only area that deals with natural agriculture which is based on the use of natural and environmentally friendly fertilizers. The fertilizer used here comes from insects, food waste and decaying plants from the farm.

Our volunteers get the time to learn all this while they are with us for at least a week. It is the only place to learn and the contribution of volunteers is highly appreciated in this area. Volunteering here does not require you to have agricultural or animal husbandry expertise but there are many areas including preparing information, computer specialists, content creators, construction technicians, basic marketing skills environmental scientists, people who want to change the environment and sports professionals. We also have a sports area owned by Kilimohalisi, where after work and on weekends, everyone works here and joins their neighbors in sports.

Activities & Shift

This area is used to grow seedlings of more than 100 plants type which is part of our income generating project. These seedlings are sold to various parts of Tanzania where our main customers are from Dar es Salaam Region.

Kilimohalisi is also involved in the breeding of Chicken, Duck and Rabbit. Chicken and duck are used as a stew in our area while Rabbit is used as a source of white meat. Rabbits also produce urine which is collected and stored for fertilizer on plants and pesticides on crops and vegetables.

Insect farming is among the activities carried out in our area. These insects are famous flies like black solder fly which are food for fish and produce insects which are food for our chickens as well as the fish we raise here.

Supporting the community is one our responsibility as Kilimohalisi .We have a program that takes young people from vulnerable situations to teach them agricultural and animal husbandry skills for 3 months. After that, they can either become self-employed or be employed by institutions or individuals.

People who join this project will be able to work 6 hours in 5 days a week.
