You will have plenty of time to explore and have fun in Southern California's hidden gem! I build a sense of community at "The Crib" with ambition and humor. The volunteer accommodations is directly behind the Airbnb and is 1,850 sq ft with 18 foot ceilings. Volunteers will be welcomed to the space with a variety of amenities.

Derrick was our fist host, so our expectations were higher, but it could not have been better! From a place to sleep, to any food we wanted/needed, he provided everything! Also, everything we could have needed for the projects, he also provided, making the tasks easier and more enjoyable. On top of everything, he is a very nice guy, always makes jokes and is open minded to experiences! We thank you Derrick very much for everything we lived in our time together and hope we can travel with him again, someday!

I had an awesome experience! Derrick was extremely accommodating and always tried to make sure I could experience Los Angeles/Big Bear. I had a private spacious room to myself when staying in LA that I really appreciated. The chores weren't taxing and very doable. It allowed to spend most of my afternoons free exploring. The one thing that confused me was when I applied for this exchange the only thing on the listing was Big Bear. There was not much reference to Los Angeles at all. In the end I took exploring the city with stride and enjoyed every moment of it. 10/10 recommend!

The plan was for Marcus to spend more time in Big Bear but the other traveler changed his departure date last minute which affected the other traveler's schedule. My LA property is my personal home which I don't open up to travelers as much unless there are projects to be done. Most travelers appreciate the views and numerous activities in the City of Angels.

I highly recommend this type of experience, as Derrick is a generous and very friendly joking person. Furthermore, the work he requests respects what is written in the description, and you manage to have all the time to explore and cultivate your hobbies!

Give Derrick a chance and he will make you feel at home. The work is easy and he is very generous with what he gives. He's easy to talk to, and understanding. Highly recommend for a first Worldpackers experience.
