Help needed in our rural ecovillage Project in Banyaka Village
The experience
We offer you the opportunity of living in an authentic Gambian rural ecovillage environment in exchange for helping to spread awareness of tree planting and seed propagation with the proper reinforcement in our communities.

What you offer
20 hours of help per week
Building & Repairing:
Help with a wide range of repairs or building.
Farming:
Plant crops, sow seeds and help in outside tasks.
Gardening:
Help grow plants and cultivate gardens
Social Work:
Help with volunteer work in local projects and communities.
What you get
2 days off per week
Private Room:
You will have a bed in a private room. In other words, a room just for you.
Shared Dorm:
You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other travelers.
Tent:
You will sleep in a tent at a camping site.
Breakfast:
You are entitled to a free breakfast, every day of your stay.
Lunch:
You are entitled to a free lunch, every day of your stay.
Free Tours:
We’ll take you on tours and rides around town. For free!
Free Hiking Tours:
We’ll take you on excursions and hikes around town. For free!
Pick Up:
We will pick you up when you arrive, and take you to our property.
Language lessons:
Take free language classes at our place.
Use our equipped kitchen:
Feel free to use our kitchen and make your own delicious food.
Requirements
Intermediate English or Fluent English
Between 18 and 47 years old
Welcomes solo volunteers, couples, and partners of volunteers
European Union Passport
United States visa or citizenship

Program Details
We offer you the opportunity of living in an authentic Gambian rural eco-friendly environment in exchange for help to spread awareness of tree planting with the proper reinforcement action. WE PLANT TREES WITH HEART AND SYSTEM
The project works on volunteerism's impact on our community livelihood. The initiative is committed to promoting sustainable eco-tourism practices that minimize negative impacts on the environment and maximize economic benefits for the local community,This includes initiatives such as waste management programs and the use of renewable energy sources and tree planting exercises. Currently the volunteer project base is under construction in yuna,the project has secure temporal eco-friendly center in Mamuda where our volunteers will be living with our team members including the project Capacity Building and Training Officer. Whom will be leading the team.
Activities & Shift
Cultural Exchange and learning opportunities
In exchange for the help, we can teach you Mandinga wollof fula languages and traditional Gambian cooking. The project team members also be willing to accompany you to different parts of the surrounding area (Bijilo park, Serrekunda, Brikama, etc)
.Accommodation
A lot of places in The Gambia do not have running water or electricity, and such is my case. I do have a well for water and, as we are a tight community, we can get anything you might need in the neighbouring houses.
As for food requierements, just ask for it in advance.
Rules
There is a scheduled help you should provide . However, there are tons of possibilities for you to improve the life of the community while you are staying here. Some of the options are:
- Helping spreading the awareness of tree planting with proper reinforcement in our community. As climate change is affecting every country and every continent.
We will be glad for the help.
- Organizing games/other activities with the neighbourhood children.
- Collection of Picking up garbages Reducing of plastic pollution, There are tons everywhere in the country.
- Any other way of helping that you might think of. As a new settlement, every little help will be much appreciated.
Any medical help or education you can provide would be a plus, however not a requirement.
