My wife and I had the best two weeks staying at the Hacienda with Luis. We were made to feel very welcome (especially as an LGBT couple). We loved the dogs, having seen the life so many stray dogs have it was amazing to see what a great life they can have at the shelter. Our work was varied, we learnt new skills like chopping wood with an axe. We were staying during a busy time so we made lots of new friends who we could spend our free time with. We loved the parties, a work hard play hard experience really suited us. We fully recommend this placement! :)

The Hacienda is like a home away from home!! This place is truly such a special experience and I highly recommend staying at least 2 weeks. By the end of your stay, you will leave with a community of like-minded people who love to travel and take care of animals + a huge appreciation for the local culture in the small towns around Cusco. In addition to the work ((which varies day to day & Luis is open to ideas!)) you can go on insane hikes like Rainbow Mountain & 7 Lagunas with other volunteers. Gracias for your hospitality Luis and for everything you do for the volunteers & the dogs. ❤️

I absolutely loved this farm and had an incredible time there. Luis was really chill, nice and helpful throughout my stay. The other volunteers were all amazing people, and the farm itself was beautiful. The dogs were all lovely and cute, especially a small white dog named Perlita 🥰 We cooked for ourselves over a fire stove, which was great. There was a well-equipped music room with electric guitar, drum set, and big speakers, plus a cozy movie room. The accommodations were lovely too—I had the best sleep in years! This was truly one of the best experiences of my entire trip.

My stay at the hacienda was amazing. I met many other travellers and we really had a community going. Luis made us feel like home. I'd definitely recommend this if you like dogs, you'd like to meet others and want to have some peaceful days in the countryside.

Me and my friend stayed at the Hacienda for 5 weeks. Luis made the place feel like home to us, making it hard to leave all the dogs and the life there behind. He's creative and will give you tasks according to your interests. Work is always fun, sometimes really random& chaotic, but I loved it. ;) I loved the little characteristics that made the Hacienda feel special.. Daisy, Pipo, Bernie, cooking on the fire, bonfires in the woods, learning new skills ;), trips to Cusco, karaoke nights- I'll miss a lot. I felt very happy here, learned about compassion. I definitely recommend❤️

Lovely place, I recommend it! I stayed for 3 weeks and did the 5 hours 5 times a week in order to stay for free. The work is really nice. There is usually a lot of volunteers at the same time, so you have a little community - and lots of sweet dogs of course, and horses and bees! The beds and rooms are nice and big and you will probably have a roommate or two. The food is simple and vegetarian.

I had a great experience at the hacienda, the dogs were sweet and the people were kind and caring. The land is absolutely beautiful and pizza night and the night around the fire was particularly fun :)

Myself and my boyfriend had an amazing time at La Hacienda and would return in a heartbeat! Luis the host is a lovely guy and the work was easy, and enjoyable and good hours! The community with the other volunteers was amazing as well and we spent time together playing cards and having pizza and pisco nights which were the best :) We fell in love with everyone single dog and recommend spending time with all of them and getting to know them, I couldn't recommend La Hacienda anymore for a beautiful, laid back relaxing and fun experience with amazing people and dogs
