I got why it's called " Homstel ", it's really a home away from home! Not just for volunteers but guests feel very comfortable and at home. It's really nice to meet people from all over the world, most of them backpackers. The hosts Francesco and Pervina are the nicest people. The hostel is small and cozy and the terrace is just WONDERFUL! Best view and relaxing place. The work is very easy and the hours are well respected, and flexible in case you need. The city is just breathtaking! My stay was until the beginning of summer season, so it was just right in my opinion. Highly recommend ❤️

Francesco and Pervina were the nicest people, this was my first experience with worldpackers and I couldn't have asked for a better hostel. They really care about the volunteers and do everything to ensure you have a wonderful time in Taormina. The task are not difficult and the schedule is flexible, I cannot say enough about how helpful everyone was during my experience from Ítalo, Grazia to Fabricio. The other volunteers were very kind and respectful, I def put this hostel on my top 10. Surely I hope to return someday.

I has an amazing experience in the hostel, I loved work with Italo, Grazia. All the staff is very nice. The Hostel has a great location, everything is near: Taormina is a beautiful place to live. Also is so easy to arrive, if your flight arrives in Catania, outside the airport you'll find a bus to Taormina. I highly recommend this volunteer. The tasks are very easy and help to improve your abilities in customers services, and improve your Italian if you are looking that. Thank you so much to Francesco as well.

Overall had a good time, I had a positive experience with all staff members. They were friendly and my interactions with Francesco were always good. Depending on the shifts/ who you work with the tasks, expectations of the volunteers vary - which may affect your experience :) . Best part of the experience was interacting with the guests and making friends with the other volunteers and the staff.

There were many wonderful things about this volunteering experience and a few regrettable aspects. Most of the staff and other volunteers were amazing (thank you Connie and Facu especially❤️) and the town of Taormina was so so beautiful. The shifts were flexible and the work fairly easy. The language most commonly used by the staff was Spanish which often made me feel excluded. I also had an issue with one staff member who was very unfriendly which ultimately made me request to not have any shifts with her. Overall it was a lovely, but occasionally difficult time💛

I stayed at the hostel for only a few days because I quickly realized it wasn't the experience I was looking for. Communication with the host upon arrival was nonexistent; for example, I was supposed to go directly to the dorm, but no one informed me. The accommodation was also less than ideal—I shared a room with six people. Furthermore, the training was minimal, essentially a "go do it and learn" approach. But if you are looking for an easy and flexible schedule they have it perfect, it is only 4 our shift, and then you can enjoy Taormina and everywhere nearby.

Definitely a lot of positives and potential to this hostel experience. Everyone on the team including the owners are super lovely. The work & hours are very flexible, really loved the option to work longer days for more days off to explore Sicily! Taormina as a town is beautiful, loved the endless beach days and strolling the streets and eating cannoli. The accommodation I was placed in (not hostel) wasn't very nice. I spoke with the owners about it, but worth noting. Also almost all the staff are Spanish speaking, so that was challenging when they wouldn't include me in conversations.

Incredible experience in the hostel. It is a really magical place, every sunrise is a magical moment not to get lost from the balcony of the hostel. I met incredible people and lived unforgettable moments! I think would be better more information and explication of the staff activities during the first days of arrival, to avoid future confusions. You gonna have 1 day off but if you ask and talk in advance they will make the schedule to help you and have a second day off. Thanks you for accepting me and letting me live this experience. Also thanks to Egle, for your advices and help always!

I had an incredible experience during my my time at the Homestal in Taormina! The opportunity not only allowed me to contribute to my host but also provided ample time to explore the local culture. From historic quarters to the markets, granita, and family dinners every corner turned was a positive experience. The city's diverse culinary scene was a delightful journey in itself. The work exchange not only enriched my cultural horizons but made wonderful friendships along the way. Grateful for this unforgettable adventure!
