The experience

We are currently seeking volunteers to help us with: reception, cooking for the cafe, yoga teachers, hosting, event planning, and misc. entertainment. Please let us know what your skills are and we can discuss your fit within the hostel environment!

We do prefer volunteers with longer available but are flexible with the timeframe. We can also assist with transportation from Colombo airport which is only 2.5 hours away. :)


What you offer

25 hours of help per week

Cleaning: Help clean the kitchen, bedrooms, bathrooms and common areas.

Kitchen Hand: Help prepare, finish and serve meals.

Reception: Help with check-ins, check-outs and guest assistance.

Bartending: Make and serve drinks and help maintain the beverages inventory.


What you get

1 day off per week

Team Dorm: You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other people.

Dinner: You are entitled to a free dinner, every day of your stay.

Discounts on Parties: Get discounts at nearby parties and clubs.

Discounts on Restaurants: Get discounts at nearby restaurants.

Discounts on Drinks: Get discounts for drinks and beverages from our bar.

Free Parties: Get free entrance for the best parties in town.

Surfboards: You can use our surfboards as much as you want.

Yoga classes: Take free yoga classes at our place.

Surf lessons: Take free surf classes at the local beaches.

Use our equipped kitchen: Feel free to use our kitchen and make your own delicious food.


Requirements

Fluent English

Between 18 and 40 years old

Welcomes solo volunteers, couples, and partners of volunteers

Program Details

Hello! Thank you for your interest in volunteering with us. We are an American/Sri Lanken owned hostel located on a gorgeous private beach in Mirissa, Sri Lanka, but centrally located within walking distance to the center of this vibrant town. We are a brand new hostel, but already have a stellar reputation of being the most lively community with good vibes, daily yoga, delicious local food, access to nightlife parties, and the best views of a calm private beach with the bluest waters.

Activities & Shift

5 hours, 5 days a week. Room (in the volunteer-only dorm) and Board (meals cooked by the chef in the restaurant) are included all days of the week.

The volunteers are a huge part of the wonderful vibe at Satori! We want to have people who are positive, friendly, outgoing, fun, and open to the new cultures of the guests and local Sri Lanka.
