My experience in the hostel Palaces was very good, I was well received by Bri and Adrian (that are lovely people), they helped me whenever I needed and were always very flexible too. I'm glad that I did this volunteering because this is a great hostel to stay and the work was simple and easy! However during my experience I was the only volunteer so it turned out to be a little different from what I was waiting for and La Fortuna is also a small and very expensive town, and there is not much to do during the day. But overall this was a good experience and I really recommend it!

Palacio the hostel is a great place for a work exchange. You'll learn Spanish, immerse in the local culture, and meet wonderful people. The work is not too complicated and is exactly as said. The hosts are so welcoming and the atmosphere is cozy. The location is convenient for walking around and all necessities are close by but it's next to a noisy street which I had to get used to a bit. Bri is patient and kind, taking us to dance classes and helping with Spanish aswell as Adrian who learned me a lot of new skills andis an amazing cook. Overall, this work exchange was a good experience!

The hostel is an amazing place to stay/volunteer! Bri and Adrian are amazing people<3 They are loving and welcoming & help you whenever you need it. The tasks where easy to understand and you would get the hang of it fast. You have plenty of time to explore all the attractions around and if you need to change your working hours, that is also no problem. Even though this workaway says that it does not include food, Adrian and Bri sometimes gave as a meal when they cooked and their cooking is amazing! When you are staying there it feels like a family and at the end you don't want to leave!

I had an amazing time at the hostel ! bri and adrian are so welcoming and just in general lovely people. when i had a big sunburn they were really helpful. one time they took me and another volunteer to the bingo. i was in the hostel when it was low season. there was less work but of course you still need to sit at the reception. i had so much fun with the other volunteers who i consider my friends now. our cozy movie nights with the hostel film projector were my favourite. you can get some volunteer discounts, i got one for the zip-lining tour for example. lots of love <3

The hostel was the best experience ever! it was my first work exchange and i'm so glad i did it here. bri and adrian are great hosts, they made me feel like a part of a family! the tasks were explained to me in the first days and i really liked them. i was there in october so it was low season. there wasn't much to do and we had plenty of free time to explore the city and the area around. our volunteer room was great and the kitchen is the best i've ever seen in a hostel! there were always multiple volunteers who made my stay even better! 10/10 would recommend !

The hostel is a cozy space. Adrian and Bri are very friendly hosts, they are willing to help you with whatever you need, it's like being with family! They are very flexible with the schedules, you will have plenty of time to explore. The location is perfect to go anywhere. You are never alone, there are always volunteers with whom you can go out and get to know, the hostel is an incredible place, there are many things to know. The quietest season to go is from September to November.

Hostel the hostel overall was great! The work was as said in the profile and very easy. I had plenty of time off to enjoy excursions and explore the area. Adrian and Bri are very kind people and made me feel welcome and my lack of spanish was not a problem. Even though the profile does not say meals included, there were several days where Adrian offered food to the volunteers which was nice because I was able to save money. I will say I unfortunately am traveling during the wet season so at a lot of points during my stay there were not many people to hang out with so keep that in mind!

I couldn't choose a better place for my first volunteering experience! Adrian and Bri are very nice people who truly care about their place and really made me feel at home. The work at reception was quite easy and I enjoyed it because I got to meet many travelers. The atmosphere at the hostel was very chill but there were always people around to talk to. I got along very well with the other volunteers and in our free time we always made plans to explore La Fortuna together or just relax at the hostel. I really recommend this experience and I hope to go back one day :)

It's the perfect way to meet people from all over the world. Adrian and Bri are lovely people. The hotel is always clean and has lots of facilities. The job is to do the check-in and check-out and make sure the hostel is always tidy. As a volunteer, we have plenty of time to explore La Fortuna and the many activities in the surrounding area. No time to get bored! I highly recommend this volunteering !
