The experience

The Misión México Foundation aims to break cycles of poverty, abuse and inequality; providing opportunities for every child and youth that we care for to succeed. Through long-term solutions like education, practical and emotional care and community development, we provide tools and opportunities for children and youth to advance in every aspect of their lives, becoming the best that they can be.


What you offer

32 hours of help per week

Child Care: Caring for, playing with, and spending time with children.

Social Work: Help with volunteer work in local projects and communities.

Teaching Sports: Teaching or assisting the host, guests, or local communities in practicing sports or physical activities.


What you get

3 days off per week

Private Room: You will have a bed in a private room. In other words, a room just for you.

Shared Dorm: You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other travelers.

Lunch: You are entitled to a free lunch, every day of your stay.

Free Events: Get free entrance for the best events in town.

Use our equipped kitchen: Feel free to use our kitchen and make your own delicious food.

Certificate: Get a certificate of completion after you finish your experience.

Basic Internet Access: Basic speed internet for you to work remotely

Requirements

Intermediate English or Intermediate Spanish

Over 21 years old

Welcomes solo volunteers, couples, and partners of volunteers

Program Details

We are looking for an enthusiastic and energetic Sports & Driver Volunteer to help facilitate sports activities and provide transportation services for the youth of the Misión México Foundation. The role combines physical activity (training, leading sports sessions, running clubs, walks) and logistical support (taking the youth to events, extracurricular activities, sports games, and outings like the river or beach). This position would be ideal for someone interested in sports and community service, and for someone who enjoys working with young people and water.


Activities & Shift

-Organize weekly sports activities for children, including football, basketball, volleyball, and other games or exercises that promote physical activity and teamwork.

-Educate children about the importance of staying active, healthy habits, and sportsmanship.

-Organize friendly matches and events.

-Transport children and staff to and from sports practices, games, and local events, ensuring their safety and well-being during transit with large vehicles.

-Assist with transportation for excursions, school events, or community outreach programs, ensuring everyone arrives on time and safely.

-Supervise our youth at the beach and assist with water activities.

-Organize a running club for children/youth.


Rules

-Experience in coaching, event organizing, or working with children in a sports setting is highly desirable.

-Excellent interpersonal skills.

-Flexible and reliable.

-Knowledge of Spanish, with the ability to conduct classes and workshops in Spanish.

-Motivating and able to take responsibility for actions and duties.

-"Working with children" valid check/criminal background check required before placement.

-21 years or older.

-No drug consumption.

-Driver's license.
