We had a great 3 weeks at the surf camp! The volunteer tasks are very easy and you have a lot of free time. Its perfect for learning how to surf and meet new people. There are different activities every day therefore you never get bored. We would recommend this experience if you really want to meet other travelers, learn how to surf and have a lot of fun. :)

Volunteering at the surf camp was the best three weeks of my life. It felt like adult summer camp and I truly made the most incredible friends for life. Every day was super social, the food was pretty good and Tamarindo is so lovely! The work was super easy (1 hour a day basically) so keep in mind it's not like most volunteering experiences but it worked great for me as every day we'd go to the beach and hang out. It was hard to find alone time as there were SO many people but if you wanna meet cool people from all walks of life and create magical memories, go!! I wanna go back already!!

My experience at dreamse was great because of the other volunteers and becaus I grew to looove surfing. But despite that the accommodation wasn't great and because of rany season and the insane humidity all our stuff grew mold. Of caus the weather is out of the hands of the surf camp but they weren't to helpful and understanding about it. Some of the staff is amazing while a good bit is terrible at there job; especially the manager who was just not to nice of a person and drunk or high all the time. The work you do for the food and accommodation is fair but Tamarindo is an insanely expensive city.

The experience depends on what your expectations are. Perfect for learning how to surf, meeting people, partying. Most people are from USA/Canada. Jobs are easy and well defined. Dorms are OK, defo bring a mosquito net. Flunky ball is super fun but also expensive.(23$). Beach excursions were nice. Waterfall excursion was totally worth it, soo much cheaper than doing it on your own. Good surf instructors. Foods were amazing, kinda repetetive but they were local and always tasty. Some days beakfast and dinner was enough food for the day. Camp and Tamarindo are both very expensive.

The other travelers you meet are really what makes this experience amazing. When I got there, morale was a bit down (people who'd been there longer said it was great beforehand). Some of the staff were amazing and super friendly people, others not so much. The nature here is beautiful and you can have a lot of fun here! This place is especially great if you love partying! Biggest downside for me was the meals, My friends and I constantly got food poisoning. Sleeping on mold wasn't great either but that's what comes with humidity and open rooms. Also! all the excursions are super expensive.

This is a party hostel completely Think late nights drinking and dirty muggy accommodation. Many people's things became moldy and one girl lost her phone due to the condensation build up. I met many amazing people through here which made it worth it but otherwise it was a mess. A lot of people, including me ended up leaving early because of the conditions and many people getting sick due to mold. The communication is lacking and the “jobs” are incredibly disorganized. The staff is not welcoming as you arrive and the manager was not sober a single day I was there.

It was such a nice experience meeting so many people, surfing all day and going on amazing excursions. But I would definitely say it was the people but not the place. I must warn that the rooms are not what I expected. They are not well prepared for the rainy season. That's the only think I didn't like about the volunteering. I would say is a great experience overall, good food, great party, nice people… It's a great volunteer to stay for 2 weeks or 3 weeks maximum. Pura vida! 🤙🏼

I had a great time at dream sea. I met so many amazing people and built friendships i will never forget. Danny is such a nice person and extremely helpful. My main issues were because i went during rainy season. Everything i had was soaking wet all the time and wouldnt dry because of the humidity. If youre not expecting to stay in a hostel and you understand everything is outside and it is more camping then anything you can have an amazing time!

It was really amazing! The people and the vibe are crazy nice. You don't really work but that's nice. The shuttles and excursions are quite expensive but you don't have to do them. The shuttle to the beach is free every day. The dorms are the only thing i didn't love. They were fine but a bit dirty and you basically sleep outside. So cockroaches and even scorpions are common. I still really loved it and would go back. The people make it the most special experience.
