Teaching English to Children in Nepal
The experience
We are looking for Volunteers who are interested to teach and practice English language to children in schools and children Research Center . As we all know ‘children are future of the nation’. Our NGO has supported some schools and children resource Center. The children range from 8 to 14 years old. Each class typically include 20-30 student. The teaching curriculum for each major subject is based on the students’ standard book.
What you offer

Social Work:

Description:
The program fee covers airport pick up, administrative charge, training, accommodation during training at hotel, sightseeing in Kathmandu during training, transportation to and from placement, accommodation and meals during placement, airport drop off and one staff supervision for the whole program. We also provide scholarships to needy children and donate funds to the schools, children libraries, women empowering we are affiliated with.

Program Details
Depending on the subject, volunteers should bring along teaching materials such as picture books, instruments, flash cards, art supplies, and songs. Our Resource Center created to provide a library & reading materials and English language programs to members of the local groups. At the center, multiple three-month English classes are offered to local youth and adults.
Activities & Shift
Upon Volunteers arrival in Kathmandu we offer 2-3 days of orientation and training at Future Nepal office, depending on the type of programs. These training help volunteers to understand our organization, various programs and opportunities, country, Nepali language and culture, safety measures, visa issues, dos and don’ts, etc. During the orientation and training period in Kathmandu, we organize the sightseeing around the Kathmandu Valley 3 hours every day.
Rules
So far as placement is concerned stay in a Nepali family where they are offered Nepali food twice a day (around 9 o’clock in the morning and 7 o’clock in the evening). Tea is served in the morning and afternoon with some snacks. Usually school and children libraries at easy distance away and the volunteers will have to teach 3-4 classes everyday. Generally school and starts at 10 a.m. and is over at 4 p.m. Children library open few hours in morning and evening before and after schools. Saturday is a weekend. On that day the volunteers can get together and share their experiences.
