Night Shift & Reception a Few Days per Week at our Hostel

I spent 17 days volunteering in the hostel. I was in charge of serving breakfasts and making beds & cleaning rooms. Every Sunday you receive a schedule so you can plan your days off. Staff is mostly Spanish speaking but it's not a problem if you're not fluent - ladies with whom I worked was so helpful and patient with me. I really enjoyed my stay there and I'm pretty sure I would extend my stay for a couple of weeks but the only reason I didn't do it was weather. All employees and volunteers treat you like a family member since the day you arrive. Thank you all for unforgettable experience!

Overall I have had an incredible 4 weeks volunteering at the hostel! I have met so many amazing people and had a lot of fun along the way. Daniel has done a fantastic job in creating a very sociable, friendly and fun hostel that offers amazing value to customers and volunteers. My role was mostly working on reception and I really enjoyed greeting guests into the hostel and making everyone feel welcome. I felt the work load was fair and the staff was always helpful and friendly towards me. Thank you the hostel its been a blast!!

Great experience at the hostel but be aware that the house where you stay is bad (problems with electricity, gas, no living-room/couches, in a bad state) and that the owners don't welcome you. Actually, we didn't see them in our entire stay. However, some people from the staff was very kind and our tasks are easy. the hostel is a huge hostel so you can meet a lot of people there and the food is amazing ! (we tried to communicate with Daniel but he didn't respond)

The hostel is a fun environment and a large hostel. You will definitely meet a lot of travelers and make friends. San Cristóbal is an amazing location 100% worth traveling to. That being said, I found that the volunteers where put at the lowest level of priority because they come and go so often. Volunteer house is in need a maintenance and no fresh water was provided there. I would not recommend this place to pairs traveling together. My partner and I had exact opposite schedules leaving us with very little free time together which defeats the purpose of traveling together in my opinion.

San Cristobol is an amazing location and the hostel is a fun and lively environment. That being said, they are such a big hostel that so many volunteers come in and out so often that I felt as if we where pushed to the back burner and the least priority. The volunteer house is in need of maintenance, volunteers have to eat dinner last and late when food is cold and there are no condiments left, .. ect. I also would not recommend this location to pairs or couples because my partner and I were put on exact opposite schedules which was easily avoidable considering we were the only pair there.

I had a great time in the hostel but the tasks I had to do at the end were not the one's I was applying to which was not really fair to me at the beginning but still ok. I can still recommend this Host!

I really enjoyed my stay at the hostel. They take good care of the volunteers. We got a separate house where we all slept together. The working hours are good and there is always room to talk about things and switch shifts. The only shift that is a bit long is the nightshift, but that get compensated with free days. The working staff and volunteers was i nice group of people that definitely made my stay very nice. Thanks the hostel!

It was my first experience in a volunteer and it was completely great, San cristobal is too beautiful and the people of the hostel as well, as the staff people much as the others volunteers I met, everything is cool but if I have to say things that could improve would be the volunteers house and our schedule, sometimes we received a change of the schedule in the last hour, for the rest I completely thankful for the welcome and the stay, it was a good idea chose this volunteer, I recommend you the hostel 100%, it will be a great experience.

I had a really great experience at the hostel. The staff and volunteers are incredibly nice and helpful to newcomers so I always felt very welcomed. I would definitely recommend this volunteer opportunity:)
