The experience

We have an Eco campsite and guest house using permaculture principles and also the 3 R's ie reduce, reuse and recycle on site. We encourage our guests to think about the environment, separate their rubbish, reuse the grey water and use environmentally friendly washing / cleaning products. We have 4 recue dogs and 8 cats that we need help with. We make craft beer and wine and are harvesting an preserving fruit and veg.We usually provide dinner.

What you offer

20 hours of help per week

Reception: Help with check-ins, check-outs and guest assistance.

Cleaning: Help clean the kitchen, bedrooms, bathrooms and common areas.

Housekeeping: Help with changing the bed linens and general housekeeping.

Gardening: Help grow plants and cultivate gardens

What you get

2 days off per week

Private Room: You will have a bed in a private room. In other words, a room just for you.

Requirements

Intermediate English or Beginner Bulgarian

Between 21 and 80 years old

Program Details

We are looking for help working inside and out; gardening (which is organic and using permaculture principles),We still have a number of projects ongoing including a large wall that needs further painting with a mural, building furniture, sculpture and more mosaic work.
When we are busy during the season we are also looking for responsible, friendly volunteers to help with the day to day running of the campsite and guest rooms. This will involve welcoming people and checking them in and answering any queries they may have. You will need to speak some English and also another language would be useful (but not essential). Some days we are empty others we may have 5 or 6 groups of people- we never really know as most don't book in advance. Work will also involve keeping the place clean and tidy and generally being available if we are not.

Activities & Shift

Usually we work about 4 hours a day starting about 9 am. stopping for lunch at around 1pm. The evening meal varies anytime between 19.00- 21.00. We share the cooking and washing up as well as keeping communal areas clean. Other times we just need someone to be around in case anyone shows up and this can be anytime between around midday and (occasionally) midnight!
