Small Family, Big Hearts: Your Support Makes a Difference

Overall, I had a good time. It wasn't easy to get to know the family as I felt there wasn't any interest in getting to know me. I had much freedom on when to do chores, but I found it quite weird for me to wake up to a dirty kitchen (that I had to clean up) or having to clean dishes and pans that I did not use. I expected from them to at least pick up and clean if something falls, wash their own dishes, pans, help with laundry and unload the dishwasher. It wasn't "assisting" with chores. Family rules, eating habits, and how to deal with the kid (as he has different needs) should be explained.

The home family is fantastic, the house is a special and comfortable place in the middle of the mountains, Kaue is a sweet and incredibly smart child with whom we played, learned and had fun. Manu has great knowledge from which we learned a lot. Juliana is very talented with a very generous warm spirit and Maya is a beautiful dog who was wonderful company the entire time. We always feel part of the family, a recommended place for any volunteer.

After spending five weeks in Bresca I can say that I couldn't have wished for a better first time volunteering experience. I felt welcomed and comfortable from the moment I arrived. The house is so cozy and the nature surrounding it is just beautiful. I rlly enjoyed going on walks with Maya. She is a wonderful dog. It was quite easy for me to connect with Kauê because he's an open person with a great sense of humour. I miss our talks and dancing sessions already. A big thank you to Ju and Manu for making this incredible time possible. They're wonderful people. I'll always keep u in my heart!

We had a wonderful experience at the home. We enjoyed playing with Kauê very much. He has his own funny humor, can understand others and is a colorful personality overall Juliana is a great mother and was always very kind. She values clear communication and makes sure to always do that. Manu cooks delicious food and we'll miss his singing:) As we didn't get to say goodbye to Kauê properly, we'll do it now. We will miss playing monster with you and the endless Catan plays. Hope you will find other glitches on your game and take others on your hours long river hikes. Maybe we'll meet again:)

A gorgeous place to visit but unfortunately I didn't get much time to explore, the hours were poorly explained and I didn't get any days off. I understand my experience was different as Juliana had taken up a summer job just before I got there which meant by the time she returned from work I had already done more than five hours of work and I was still expected to continue to do more throughout the day. They had many guests which was a lovely opportunity to meet people from all over the world, it was great fun going to all of Juliana's performance and Kauê is super sweet kid and full of energy

Ocean had the challenging task to stay with us during the summer holidays with Kaue being at home most of the time and Juliana going to work every day. Despite these difficult circumstances, Ocean managed to have a wonderful time with Kaue and he enjoyed his time with Ocean immensily. Ocean is a very trustworthy and dedicated person. We highly recommend her.

Our stay was nice and we are glad that we could experience this. Kauê is very nice kid, but personally we think that the host should write more about him before the stay. He is very open hearted and can communicate well, but sometimes it was quite hard to manage his eating and living habits. Manu was welcoming and always had good advices for us about the surroundings. Sometimes the communication about our tasks was bit hard to understand so we needed to improvise and tried to catch up in our own way. Maya is a great company for walks! We are glad for the stuff we learnt, thank you:)

The home is a beautiful place surrounded by beautiful nature. For me it was the perfekt place to feel reconnected to nature by taking nice walks with Maya. Juliana, Manu and Kauê are a amazing family that made me feel very welcome in their home. The taskes for me were mainly to do household tasks and spend time with Kauê. I had a lot of freedom in managing my time. I really enjoyed my stay in the home and couldn't wish for a better first volunteer experience.

The home is a wonderful place. Volunteering brought me many stories and great moments. It's a great place to connect with nature and yourself. My routine was to keep the house organized and clean, wash clothes, cook food, play and help take Kauê to school. The hosts don't have well-defined tasks, or a period and amount of daily work time, many activities came up at the last minute, this caused different working hours during the days, for me this was a challenge but also a learning opportunity. It's a very interesting family. I am so grateful for the opportunity, learning and hospitality!

The home is a nice place for connecting with nature/ focusing on yourself. You have a lot of freedom when it comes to organising your tasks. We enjoyed supporting the family by cooking meals, cleaning, playing with Kauê and gardening. Juliana was always kind, willing to communicate with us and showed gratitude. Unfortunately, Manu avoided conversations with us. To approaches from us he reacted rejecting and unfriendly. According to that we felt uncomfortable. But that someone isn't even able to say goodbye properly at the end of living together for 4 weeks is already disrespectful.
