The experience

Cleaning both houses and making beds before guests arrive, it is not necessary to do this cleaning every day, but depending on guest arrivals and departures.
Washing clothes (bed sheets and bath towels in the washing machine) and hanging clothes out to dry.
Bringing firewood and pellets to the houses
Assisting with check-ins and check-outs
Welcoming guests and providing them with information
Helping to look after 8 friendly dogs.

What you offer

22 hours of help per week

Administration: Help with booking systems and payments.

Cleaning: Help clean the kitchen, bedrooms, bathrooms and common areas.

Housekeeping: Help with changing the bed linens and general housekeeping.

Reception: Help with check-ins, check-outs and guest assistance.

2 days off per week

Private Room: You will have a bed in a private room. In other words, a room just for you.

Shared Dorm: You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other travelers.

Breakfast: You are entitled to a free breakfast, every day of your stay.

Lunch: You are entitled to a free lunch, every day of your stay.

Dinner: You are entitled to a free dinner, every day of your stay.

Free Laundry: You can use our laundry room freely.

Free Tours: We’ll take you on tours and rides around town. For free!

Free Hiking Tours: We’ll take you on excursions and hikes around town. For free!

Dance classes: Take free dance classes at our place.

Use our equipped kitchen: Feel free to use our kitchen and make your own delicious food.

Basic Internet Access: Basic speed internet for you to work remotely

Dedicated Workspace: Specific space for you to work remotely

Only hosts solo volunteers (doesn’t accept couples or partners)

Program Details

I am looking for someone who wants to join me on this dream journey that I started 12 years ago.
I decided to come and take care of two family homes that I am very fond of, and here I stayed. I started by renting the houses, then it became local accommodation. It is a very beautiful place in the mountains, in Serra da Estrela.
I do a lot of work, from managing reservations, helping with cleaning and preparing the houses, receiving guests, accompanying them, and checking them out.
I plan to include breakfasts, meals, and other activities that I do, such as meditation, hiking, connecting with the four elements, massages, and dancing.
I am a generous, understanding person, willing to help others, and right now I really need help with these tasks to be able to keep up all the work I have started because it is a place with a lot of potential that can grow more and more.

Activities & Shift

Keep the houses and household linen clean and tidy
Clean houses and make beds before guests arrive. Clean houses and prepare beds for subsequent arrivals
Check guests in and out and provide them with information when necessary
Transport firewood and pellets to the houses

Help care for 8 adult dogs and sometimes puppies of the Serra da Estrela breed. Walk them, prepare and feed them, and keep an eye on them when necessary.

Household tasks are not required every day.
Dog care is required every day, but I respect days off for exploring the mountains and leisure activities.

I can recommend and accompany you when possible in my car for some activities and visits here in the region.

This place is 7 km from the city and 3 km from the village of Penhas da Saúde. There is a shuttle bus that goes to Covilha, as well as taxis, but I am available for whatever is necessary.
