Working at this English cafe was such a meaningful experience and and one of my best memories from my time in Korea. I am incredibly grateful for this opportunity. It allowed me to connect with locals and gain a deeper understanding of Korean culture. I love the location of the academy and the people there are very warm and welcoming. I am so grateful for the friends I made along the way and the memories I have made here. It was truly an unforgettable experience and I am already planning a return trip!

I enjoyed my experience at Yapper's Academy! Here is some general thoughts on the experience: It is located outside of Seoul by around 40-50 minutes, so accessible but, outside the main tourist area. I enjoyed the opportunity to connect with locals. Food is like mid priced in the area, and there accessible restaurants all around, I didn't cook that much but, other volunteers utilized the kitchen and probably saved some extra bread. I really enjoyed the people at the dorm, there is a good community energy there. Thanks again!

Had a great time at the coliving-Seoul. Scarlet and her team were wonderful and accommodate each volunteer needs as best as they can. Location is fantastic. A place where you can chill, time to yourself to being a party animal. Close to eateries cheap to expensive, shops and transportation buses and trains. Sightseeing wise, you are in Seoul. There is a ton of things to do. But the best thing that I enjoyed the most, was conversing with local Seoul people. Getting to know them in some way small way about their life in Seoul, aspirations, their pressure and anything they wanted to talk about.

Oh my, where do I begin? I knew nothing about South Korea when I came and I left with new friends, new knowledge, and new memories. This is the first time I've done a language program like this and I'm hooked! Not only is the workload fair for what I got, I actually looked forward to my shifts. The students who come are so interesting and interested, they love meeting foreigners and are excited to show people their culture. The other volunteers were so fun and kind, the location is perfect if you want to be out of the big city but still have the convenience of it. LOVE

The conversation with students is easy and fun! You make good friendships and everyone meets up with the students outside of the school time as well! The boss “K” is really easygoing, funny and polite! Happy hour K cooks for everyone! Scarlett the new manager will solve all your questions and has great recommendations. All the volunteers living together in a dorm is fun, usually there's always someone in the living room who's open to talk :) The dorm provides unlimited ramen and rice! They also have a rack of free clothes which got me through the cold weather! Grateful for the coliving!

I loved going back here! Even after two years from my last trip, I definitely felt the same community and kindness from everyone in their own way. Kay is always making sure we can enjoy our time at the academy even off hours with a dinner or just letting us use the ps4 and switch. I also appreciate how informing Cassia was about everything, and how Scarlett would help us engage with others at the weekly Event, Happy Hour, held at the academy. Hours are reasonable and communicating and hanging out with other volunteers or students is very eye opening to experience different cultures!

The dorm is cozy and Cassia did an excellent job at informing me what tasks & roles I needed to fulfill. Easy to navigate and a great surrounding area. As for the academy, it's such an amazing experience. Meeting locals & immersing yourself into their life when possible is such an incredible and socially rewarding process. Talking, sharing, listening, interacting & just spending time was such a big thing for me. Everyone has a unique story and everyone wants to learn and grow. Such a beautiful community and I am grateful to have experienced everything.

I volunteered for a month and here's an honest review. The work was easy, the students were lovely, and other volunteers were fun and helpful. But the schedule wasn't fair, some worked 12–16 hours while others did 20. Even with advance notice, days off weren't guaranteed. The AC was freezing in both the academy and apartment. My bed was 1 meter from AC, I got really sick because Scarlett was turning it on every night. I ended up with bronchitis, and had to go to the hospital. The apartment was okay but a bit messy, but 8 people were living there so thats okey. Students and others were amazing.

Hi Anna, thks for joining us I'm replying to this review to ensure ur false information doesn't mislead our future volunteers:) Everyone in our program does the required hours. If u had any doubts about it, u should've asked in our weekly check-up meeting. AC isn't why u got sick, cause it didn' work during the night since it's not managed by us but by the building. Perhaps the constant drinking, smoking, and clubbing was the real reason & even then we changed your schedule so u could recover.
